Cory Brinkman bet 3,000 on an A♦K♣8♥ flop from the hijack, and players in the big blind and early position called. Everyone checked the 5♦, bringing a 4♣ river. The big blind led out for 7,500. The next player snap-called, giving Brinkman some pause. However, he ultimately called.
The big blind showed A♣9♣ for top pair, which was enough to get the early player to muck. Brinkman had that beat with A♥Q♥, however.
Ken Baime was down about his last 9,000, which was in the middle on a board of 4♥8♥2♥K♥Q♠. His 8♠7♥ was good for a pair that turned into a flush, enough to crack the 4♣4♠ of his disappointed opponent in late position, who had flopped a set.

Cards were on their backs between Michael Johns in the blinds and Bret Martin on the button. Martin's A♥10♦ had prevailed over Q♠J♣.
Nicholas Rigby lost nearly all of his stack in an early hand, but he's looking to save a bullet and spin the nub back up. He's within shouting distance of being back to a starting stack.
