Rigby Pays Off Jones

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

On a completed board of 10J52Q, Nicholas Rigby was in middle position facing a bet of 14,000 into a pot of around 20,000. Brian Jones had made the wager out of the big blind. Rigby took some time then splashed in a call.

Jones showed AK for the nuts.

"So sick," Rigby muttered.

Main Event 1a

The first of four starting flights is in the books at RunGood Grand Prix Caesars Southern Indiana $800 Main Event, and it's time for Day 1b here on Friday, Aug. 22.

Play kicks off at 6 p.m. local time with eight 30-minute levels to begin the day. Players will start with 30,000, and anyone who busts out may reenter as many times as they wish during that time frame. After the initial eight levels, the length gets bumped to 40 minutes per level. Play continues until fewer than 12.5% of the entries remain.

At that point, the remaining players will bag and advance in the money.

Thursday's Day 1a saw 50 entries, with six of those advancing to Day 2, led by Travis Rodgers and his 558,500. Those who bagged can choose to enter Day 1b under a "best stack forward" format.
