Boxcars Good for Williams

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Donald Williams (left) and Bruce Kahn
Donald Williams (left) and Bruce Kahn

The player in the lojack raised to 5,000 and Donald Williams called next to act. Likewise, Bruce Kahn came along from the cutoff while the button and blinds all got out of the way.

All three players proceeded to check it down as the board ran out {7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Kahn showed the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} but it was no good as Williams had a bigger pocket pair with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. That was good as the original raiser sent his hand to the muck,

Sriqui Doubles Through Wiegrefe

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ben Sriqui
Ben Sriqui

We're not sure when the chips went in but we do know that Ben Sriqui just doubled through Jaime Wiegrefe.

As the dealer counted the stacks the board read {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and both hands were tabled.

Wiegrefe: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Sriqui: {10-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Sriqui was best with tens full of fours and he claimed more than Wiegrefe's stack.

Two years ago, this very event attracted 1,029 entries to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, which created a $308,700 prize pool. In the end, it was 27-year-old Ben Lindemulder emerging victorious to capture a $67,232 first-place prize plus a $1,650 seat into the Deepest Stack event.

Lindemulder, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, resides in Pompano Beach where he is self-employed. It marked his third tournament cash in Hollywood, first victory and largest career score.

For more on Lindemulder’s win, check out the Seminole Hard Rock’s full recap here.

Don't Miss Out on Monday's $560 The Deeper Stack

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

For the next week and a half, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is playing host to the Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series. In addition to this tournament, the series is comprised of two others including $560 buy-in The Deeper Stack, which will run May 20-22.

Players will start with 40,000 in chips in that tournament and play 40-minute levels through Level 14. Levels 15-26 will last 60 minutes each with Levels 27+ will switch to 90 minutes. Heads-up play will revert to 40-minute levels.

The plan for the Day 1 flights is to play through Level 14. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will be allowed until the start of Day 2. Like the Deep Stack, this is not a best-stack forward event.

The winner of the tournament will also receive an added $1,650 Main Event seat.

Last year, Chanpiseth Keam prevailed over a 432-entry field to win the Deeper Stack for $37,991. The year before that, Jeffrey Trudeau Jr. topped a 434-entry field to win it for $49,148, while Almog Biton topped a 452-entry field to win it in 2016 for $57,746.

Chris Young
Chris Young

With around 40,000 in the pot and a board reading {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, action exploded between Chris Young and Guillermo Hamilton with the former getting all in for 56,500.

Hamilton: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Young: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Hamilton had flopped a set but Young got lucky to turn a bigger one. Hamilton was looking for the one outer to steal back the pot, but it wasn't in the cards as the {3-Hearts} bricked the river.
