Thomas Doubles Through Slater

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ben Thomas
Ben Thomas

The under-the-gun player raised to 1,500 and Ben Thomas called a couple of spots over. The player in the cutoff called and then noted radio host Andy Slater three-bet to 5,100 from the big blind.

The original raiser folded, Thomas called, and the cutoff came along to make it three-way action to the {3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop.

Slater was first to act and bet 8,600, which prompted Thomas to moved all in for 18,200 total. The cutoff got out of the way and Slater made a quick call.

Slater: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Thomas: {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Thomas had out-flopped Slater and shipped the double after the {10-Hearts} appeared on the turn followed by the {5-Spades} river.

Mark Your Calendars for The $1,650 Deepest Stack

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Seminole Hard Rock
Seminole Hard Rock

For the next week and a half, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is playing host to the Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series. In addition to this tournament, the series is comprised of two others including the $1,650 buy-in Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry) $300,000 GTD, which will run May 23-27.

Players will start with 50,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels through Level 14. Levels 15-26 will last 60 minutes each with Levels 27+ will switch to 90 minutes. Heads-up play will revert to 40-minute levels.

The plan for the Day 1 flights is to play through Level 14. Late registration and unlimited re-entries will be allowed until the start of Day 2. Like the Deep Stack, this is not a best-stack forward event.

Last year, Chris Bolek topped a 349-entry field to win the Deepest Stack Main Event for $94,544 after a heads-up deal with TK Miles. Other past winners include Geddes Cooper, who topped a 465-entry field to win it in 2017 for $112,771, and Scott Heiligman, who bested 367 entries in 2016 to win it for $121,202.

Brown Takes Juicy One on the Flop

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Adam Horowitz (left) and Chris Brown
Adam Horowitz (left) and Chris Brown

Four players each put in 5,500 preflop and took an all-heart flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Adam Horowitz checked from the small blind and Chris Brown, the preflop aggressor, tossed out a pair of T5,000 chips.

The 10,000 bet was enough to get all three of his opponents, including Horowitz, to lay down their hands.

Not too exciting but it gave us a good excuse to update you on the current stacks of both Brown and Horowitz.

Williams Sends One to the Rail

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Donald Williams
Donald Williams

The preflop action escaped us but we do know a player somehow got his stack of 14,400 all in and was at risk against Donald Brown.

Brown: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Brown was out in front and stayed there as the board ran out a safe {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. With that, Brown scored the knockout and chipped up to 55k.

WSOP Bracelet Winner Downed

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

We missed the elimination of 2015 WSOP Ladies Event champ Jacquelyn Scott, but she did swing by the media desk to inform us of her demise.

As she told it, both her and another player held {a-}{j-} on a jack-high one-suited flop. The chips went in against a third player, who happened to flop the flush.

"He got us both," she said before taking her leave. She also mentioned that while she's done in this tournament, she'll return next week for more 2019 Seminole Hard Rock May Deep Stack Poker Series events.
