Action picked up on a Q♠9♣6♥ flop in a single-raised pot as Jon Pardy in early position check-called a bet of 2,500 from Loyal Sprague in the cutoff.

On the J♥ turn, Pardy checked again to Sprague who bet 4,000, and Pardy took some time before he elected to call.

The river brought the 6♠ as Sprague quickly checked behind, putting a grimace on Pardy's face who tabled K♦10♦ for the turned nut straight. He collected a modest pot to pad his stack but was unable to get extra value on the river.

Flores was in good shape with the dominating pair as the 7♣ turn added no additional outs for Robinson. The Q♦ landed on the river, securing the knockout for Flores who got his stack back above starting.

Last summer, Brandon Mitchell beat a record-setting field to win life-changing money in the 2025 Arizona State Poker Championship.

The $1,100 buy-in tournament at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale attracted 3,546 entries. A former police officer took it down for $525,700 by effectively protecting and defending his chip stack. Mitchell, competing in his home state, overcame a deep deficit to secure a career-best score. He was one of six players who booked a six-figure win in Arizona's biggest poker tournament of the year.
