Anna Gets Carded

Anna Wroblewski took a break from the cards at the table for a moment, but couldn't escape being carded at the bar in the back corner. "They said it's state regulation to card anyone who looks under 30," she said, as she came back to her table empty-handed.

Prop-aganda

Gavin Smith + Erick Lindgren + same room = 99% chance that a prop bet is in the works. Today's proposition: What SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) score could Gavin Smith achieve while hung over? The line was set at 1000, but Theo Tran dealt the wild card, reminding Gavin and E-Dog that the format of the SAT has been changed, with the top score increasing from 1600 to 2400.

Jacob Chips Up

Alex Jacob
Alex Jacob
A semi short-stacked Alex Jacob raised to 1,075 under-the-gun and the big blind called. The two saw a flop of {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. After the flop checked around, Jacob called a 2,000 bet on a {10-Spades} turn, and another 2,000 after the river brought the {7-Clubs}. Jacob flipped up {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and his opponent sheepishly turned up {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a busted straight draw.

Jacob can breathe a little easier as his stack now sits at 13,500.

Oborne Sends One Packing

Jerry Yang and Damien Oborne
Jerry Yang and Damien Oborne
Damien Oborne, the lone representative of team T6 Poker playing in the championship event, has just eliminated an opponent from the tournament in dominating fashion.

Oborne went to battle with pocket queens against his opponent's A-Q offsuit and managed to spiked the case queen when the flop came Q-9-2, giving him top set. The turn and river blanked out and Oborne stacked up just over 45,000 in chips with the win.

Oborne has excellent position on two very high-profile opponents sitting to his immediate right: Lee Watkinson and Jerry Yang.
