Lazarou Crippled

Vassilios Lazarou was involved in a hand to the river with Alexander Kostritsyn that was bet on all streets to the river. On the river, Kostritsyn bet into Lazarou showing a board of {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {8-Clubs}. Lazarou called showing a board of {10-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {3-Spades}. After making the call Lazarou only had 3,000 chips behind.

Kostritsyn rolled over ({6-Clubs} {8-Spades} {Q-Hearts}) for eights full. Lazarou was clearly upset stating, "Sick!. So sick!" He then threw his cards into the muck forcefully.

The very next hand Lazarou was all in for the ante of 3,000 and won the hand when he hit a straight on 6th and David Oppenheim missed his flush on the river. After the ante hand, Lazarou is left with on 18,000 in chips.

Brooks Clips Kostritsyn

Eric Brooks has taken down a nice pot off Alexander Kostritsyn after Kostritsyn called down with a board of {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Spades} but mucked when Brooks turned over ({Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}-X) {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for queens and nines.

After Minh Ly had earlier folded a queen, Kostritsyn stated his dismay that Brooks had caught the case queen to make a bigger two pair than his own.

Lazarou Dented

Vassilios Lazarou showing {Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Spades} called down the bets of Fu Wong on all streets who tabled ({A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}) {A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for aces and tens. Lazarou tapped the table and mucked his cards, seemingly in anger at himself for making the call.

Lazarou is now under pressure with only about 120,000 chips

David Oppenheim Doubles Up

On fourth street, Vassilios Lazarou was showing {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} and made a double bet. Oppenheim tanked for about five minutes before finally raising to put himself all-in. Cards were turned over and we were off to the races

Lazarou ({J-Hearts} {6-Hearts}) {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {A-Spades} ({7-Hearts})
Oppenheim ({9-Spades} {10-Diamonds}) {10-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} ({9-Clubs} )

Oppenheim's full house was good enough to double up to around 180,000 in chips.

Oppenheim Crippled

Fu Wong was the early aggressor but stepped out of the way on 5th street when David Oppenheim check-raised Alexander Kostritsyn. Kostritsyn wasn't concerned as he put in a third raise. Oppenheim called, and then called down bets on 6th and 7th streets.

Oppenheim was showing {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} but Kostritsyn turned over ({J-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}) {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a full house to take down a huge pot.

Kostritsyn is now our chip leader with over 700,000 with overnight chip leader David Oppenheim in need of something special as he looks down at only 45,000 in chips.

Oppenheim Takes Hit

David Oppenheim was forced to fold on the river holding {4-Spades}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades} when Jim Paluszek kept firing with {10-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Oppenheim is now the short stack with about 200,000 and looks ready to implode as he is visibly frustrated.

Fu Wong Kick Strong

On third, Fu Wong showing the {A-Diamonds} raised, and Eric Brooks reraised showing the {A-Clubs}. Wong made the call. On fourth, Wong caught a {4-Clubs} and Brooks caught the {3-Hearts}. Wong check-called a bet from Brooks. Wong caught a {K-Diamonds} and Brooks caught a {7-Spades} on fifth and it was checked around. Wong bet out on sixth street after catching the {Q-Clubs} . Brooks, showing three to the wheel, raised and Wong made the call.

The river card was checked by Wong and Brooks feigned a bet but also checked as well. Brooks showed ({A-Hearts} {4-Spades} {K-Spades}) for a pair of aces with a king kicker. Wong showed ({A-Spades} {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts}) for a pair of aces with a king. The next highest card would determine the hand as Wong's {Q-Clubs} outkicked Brook's {7-Spades}.

Welcome to stud.

Brooks Raises Oppenheim Off Pot

Vassilios Lazarou completed showing the {K-Diamonds} before Eric Brooks made the first raise with the {A-Clubs}. David Oppenheim flat-called with the {10-Spades}, as did Lazarou.

On 4th street Brooks caught the {10-Clubs} and led with a bet, as Oppenheim {Q-Hearts} and Lazarou {9-Clubs} both called.

On 5th street Brooks led with a bet again after catching the {6-Clubs} before Oppenheim announced a raise with the {6-Hearts}. Lazarou folded and Brooks fumbled with his chips before splashing out enough to declare a reraise. Oppenheim went into the tank, paid his masseuse, and stood to contemplate his decision before finally deciding to release his hand.

Oppenheim has taken a couple of hits already today as he tries to stamp his authority on this final table.
