Kostritsyn Rivers Wong

Alexander Kostritsyn called the bets of Fu Wong on 3rd, 4th and 5th street before taking the lead on 6th street. Wong made the call. Kostritsyn then bet the river in the dark and Wong called.

Wong was showing {K-Hearts}

but Kostritsyn turned over ( {A-Spades}

)

for a rivered straight to take down a good sized pot.

Early Going

In the early going Fu Wong has taken a pot off Alexander Kostritsyn after raising him on fifth street causing Kostritsyn to fold.

Erik Seidel is busy enjoying what appears to be a potato salad, while David Oppenheim is starting the day with yet another massage!

Fu Wong comes to today’s table as one of the least experienced tournament players. To date, Wong has only one tournament cash for $64,000 in a No-Limit event at the 2006 LA Poker Classic. His lack of tournament experience has not seemed to matter as he has navigated through one of the toughest stud fields in history to take his short at the Stud World Championship

The only other player with a WSOP bracelet at today’s final table is Vassilios Lazarou. Lazarou holds two bracelets in 7 Card Stud and has 5 World Series of Poker final tables. In addition he has 13 cashes at the World Series. If he can amass some chips, his experience should make him a very dangerous opponent.

Seat 4: Erik Seidel (Las Vegas, NV) 273,000 Chips

The biggest name by far at this final table is Erik Seidel, holder of 8 World Series of Poker bracelets. Seidel has over 8.45 million in tournament winnings and is perhaps most famous for his runner up finish to Johnny Chan in the 1988 World Series of Poker Main event which was made famous in the movie “Rounders”. Seidel has had a fantastic 2008, finishing 2nd in the Aussie Millions main event and winning the WPT event at Foxwoods.

Seat 3: Jim Paluszek (Bensalem, Pennslyvania) 413,000 chips

Jim Paluszek has a sprinkling of tournament success with his major victory coming in a $500 buy-in event at the 2005 US Poker Championships which was also in seven-card stud.

Jim cashed in Event #7 $2000 No Limit Holdem at this year’s WSOP and this is his first WSOP final table.
