Horaay for Boeree

There was a raised pot with multiple callers before the flop came down {4-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}. One player made it 4,500 to go before Liv Boeree moved all-in for 24,500. Her opponent folded and she revealed {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}.

After a grinding few hours she has some breathing space now with 24,500.

Lucky Hat

Kenny "Badhat" Piel just tripled up to 17,150 in very fortunate circumstances. He was all-in preflop and got action from two players.

I didn't get the flop action, but after the turn came giving us a board of {7-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {K-Hearts}, one of the players bet, forcing the other to fold {9-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. The player who bet held {Q-?} {Q-?} and Piel revealed he had {9-Hearts} {9-Spades}, reducing his outs by two.

It didn't matter though, as the river came {8-Diamonds} to make the gutshot straight and propel him up to 17,150.

Kings Beat Down Jacks

It folded to a player in mid position who looked down at his cards, thought for ten seconds and then moved all-in for 7,450. Two seats along is Paul Parker who made the call. Everyone else folded before we were shown Parker's {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} to be in great shape against the {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} of his opponent.

The board ran seven high putting Parker up to 18,000 and his opponent to zero.

Gobbo Gone?

Jimmy Fricke looks to have gone MIA. We can't confirm he's out just yet but it looks as though he may have been eliminated in the last fifteen minutes or so.

Aiming To Cash...Again

Nikolai Evdakov last year picked up the record for most cashes in a year at the WSOP, a record that gave him the unflattering name, 'The Cockroach', a tribute to his survival instincts.

It should come as no surprise that he's already on his way to cash #1 of 2009. The Russian is sitting with a healthy 18,000 at the moment with only 660 players left of Day 1b.
