Dana Kellstrom Flops a Full House

Dana Kellstrom sittin' with a nice stack of chips now
Dana Kellstrom sittin' with a nice stack of chips now
Dana Kellstrom just let us know about a recent hand he played where he won a big pot to move to over 125,000 chips. After a player raised preflop, Kellstrom called.

The flop came down {10-?} {10-?} {4-?}. Kellstrom's opponent fired a bet of 7,000 and then Kellstrom raised to 17,000. His opponent came back over the top to 27,000 and then Kellstrom went all in for 55,000 total. The player called holding {A-?} {10-?}. Kellstrom held pocket fours for a flopped full house.

The turn brought a six and the river a deuce, keeping Kellstrom's hand in the lead and moving him up to over 125,000 chips.

Kellstrom would like to say hello to the cigar lounge back home as well.

Cole Rolls With the Punches

Corwin Cole made it 1,500 to go from UTG, then faced a reraise to 4,400. Cole made the call and the flop came down {5-Spades} {4-Clubs} {2-Diamonds}. Cole check-called a 4,000 bet from his opponent. The turn came the {9-Clubs} and Cole fired out 8,575. He was met with a raise to 18,000 and after a bit of a tank, mucked his hand.

No worries yet for Cole, as he's still on 134,000 in chips.

Nguyen Can't Beat Third Pair

We think action was checked in a three-way pot to the turn, {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. We say that because there were three players in the hand and 6,500 chips in the pot. Two players checked to Van Nguyen on the button. She bet 7,000, folding one player. The other player check-raised to 17,000. Nguyen called.

The river was a third diamond, the {2-Diamonds}. That slowed down the action, with both players checking.

"Ace is good," Nguyen's opponent said. "You have an ace?" Neither player tabled their cards, prompting the dealer to instruct Nguyen's opponent to open his hand. He showed {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} for a pair of jacks, then clapped his hands when Nguyen mucked.

Right Call, Wrong Result for Rios

We caught the action after the small blind moved all in on Jesse Rios' button.

Rios contemplated his action saying "I hope you have what I think you have," before making the call.

Rios: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

"Now you've got more outs," said Rios after the flop came {5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. He was right, as the turn brought the {4-Spades} and the straight. The river paired the board with the {2-Spades} and Rios slid a stack of chips to his left.

Riding Off Into the Sunset

A player in middle position raised to 1,425 before the flop, and both the cutoff and button made the call. When the bet came to the small blind, Hoyt Corkins moved all in for about 60,000 on top. The original raiser quickly called and the other two opponents folded in turn.

Showdown
Corkins: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Opponent: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The flop was a big sweat for Corkins as it came {J-Spades} {10-Spades} {10-Clubs} to give him a Royal Flush draw! The {4-Hearts} on the turn was an ugly card though, and the {J-Hearts} that filled out the board was a miss as well. Failing to get over the hump, The Cowboy has been hogtied and run out of the room.

Winning Takes Stammen-a... and a Little Luck

'Stammdogg'
'Stammdogg'
Facing a lead bet on a flop of {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {6-Hearts}, Keven Stammen moved all in and after tanking for quite some time, his opponent made the call. Stammen's {Q-Hearts} {10-Clubs} was far behind his opponent's {K-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}, but Stammen turned the {J-Spades} to fill his gutshot straight draw. The river was the {K-Hearts} and Stammen eliminated his opponent. His stack topped the 100,000 mark after the hand.

(Pam) Brunson Trends Downwards

Pam Brunson
Pam Brunson
Pam Brunson was one of two players to call a preflop raise to 1,700. On a flop of {J-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}, the preflop aggressor had first action and checked to Brunson. She bet 3,000 and was called by both of her opponents.

The turn was a second jack and a third diamond, {J-Diamonds}. Again the preflop aggressor checked. This time Brunson checked too, prompting the third player to move all in for about 10,000.

"Do you want me to call?" Brunson asked after the preflop aggressor folded.

"I don't want a call," the all-in player responded. "I'm happy with that pot." He got his wish when Brunson folded, preserving a chip stack of 30,000 chips.

Lunkin Rivers Opponent

Vitaly Lunkin
Vitaly Lunkin
On a board of {J-Spades} {6-Spades} {5-Clubs} {10-Spades} and with about 14,000 in the pot a player moved all in for 25,725 from the big blind.

Vitaly Lunkin was his lone opponent and was sent into the tank for several minutes after the all in shove. An ESPN camera crew circled the table as the $40,000 No Limit Champion continued to replay the hand in his hand. Finally he made a call.

Big blind: {K-Spades} {8-Spades}
Lunkin: {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}

The river brought the {Q-Spades} giving Lunkin the ace high flush to eliminate his opponent.

Vitaly Lunkin - 123,000

Later, Lex

Lex Veldhuis - Out
Lex Veldhuis - Out
Jonas Danielsson opened with a raise to 1,600 from the cutoff, and Lex Veldhuis three-bet it up to 4,600 from the next seat over. Danielsson was the lone caller, and the two men saw the flop come down {3-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {9-Spades}. Danielsson checked, and Veldhuis continued out with a bet of 6,800. After a good while in the tank, Danielsson asked for a count. "It's 17,400 more," said Veldhuis, and his opponent quickly moved all in. Veldhuis made the call for his tournament life, open-ended with {2-Clubs} {4-Spades} . His would-be knocker-out tabled {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for top-top, looking to eliminate the dangerous pro. He would do just that as the turn and river blanked off with the {K-Hearts} and {8-Spades} respectively.

After running over the featured table on Day 1a, Veldhuis has run out of chips today, and he is headed for the exit.

Double Gutter for Corkins

Hoyt Corkins
Hoyt Corkins
A player in late position opened with a raise, and both the small blind and Hoyt Corkins in the big blind came with him to the flop. It brought {7-Spades} {5-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. The blinds checked to the raiser, and he continued out with a bet. The small blind flat-called, and Corkins moved all in for about 30,000. The raiser ducked out of the way, but the small blind made a quick call to put Corkins at risk.

Showdown
Small blind: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}
Corkins: {9-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}

The Cowboy was well behind and looking to fill in his double-belly-buster straight draw to stay alive. The {A-Clubs} on the turn was no use to him, but the {10-Spades} that hit the river was very handy indeed. Corkins pulled out the winning ten-high straight, doubling him up close to 70,000.
