Greenstein Motoring Along

Level 5 : 200/400, 0 ante

We've seen Barry Greenstein's stack climbing throughout the day and it seems that he plans on continuing that trend.

From early position he raised to 1,000 and the small blind was the only player to call. The flop came {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the small blind checked to Greensteein who bet 1,500. The small blind called and they saw the {4-Hearts} fall on the turn. Both players checked and saw the river bring the {9-Spades}. Both players opted to check again and Greenstein's {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} trumped his opponent's {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

After the hand Greenstein had around 70,000.

Dwan Busts Alaei

Level 5 : 200/400, 0 ante

Tom Dwan opened under the gun only to have Liv Boeree reraise to 2,500 from middle position. Daniel Alaei then four-bet to 6,000 on the button, Dwan made it around 22,000 to go, and Boeree got out of the way. Alaei, who had less chips, made the call.

Dwan: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Alaei: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

It was a classic race with Alaei needing to improve. Unfortunately for him, the board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and his day came to an end.

Motivational Speaker Daniel Negreanu?

Level 5 : 200/400, 0 ante

With the board reading {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{q-Spades} Matt Marafioti checked the action over to Daniel Negreanu who bet 6,000. Marafioti looked visibly upset as he tanked for a few minutes and then tossed his cards into the air toward the muck. One of his cards flipped over onto the table revealing a {k-} and Daniel said "You had kings, right?" Marafioti said nothing and Daniel offered to show one card. Another player at the table pointed to one of Daniel's cards and a {q-} was flipped over.

Marafioti still looked upset and Daniel proceeded to give him a pep talk saying "You're young, you've got money, you just made a good laydown. You should feel good about yourself."

Hard to know for sure whether Daniel was telling the truth but Marafioti can't be too upset as he still had around 80,000 after the hand was over. Daniel currently has around 41,000.

Praz Bansi Doubles Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 0 ante

Joseph Cheong opened with a raise in early position and Praz Bansi raised to 2,550. Action folded around to Masa Kagawa and he took a few moments before betting the pot. Cheong got out of the way and Bansi was able to move all in for 15,950. Kagawa called and they went to the showdown.

Kagawa: {A-Spades} {J-Spades}
Bansi: {10-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Board: {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

Bansi can breathe a little easier now with just over the starting stack.

Dwan Catches a Lady to Bust Boeree

Action folded to Tom Dwan in the cutoff and he put in a raise to 1,200. Randy Lew made the call on the button and Liv Boeree promptly raised to 7,000 from the blinds. Action was back on Dwan and he slung in a stack of chips totaling somewhere near 30,000. Lew got out of the way while Boeree called of her remainign 9,000.

Dwan: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Boeree: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

Boeree was in a great spot to double, but not so much after the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. "F**k my life," she said as she rose from her chair. The {9-Hearts} turn left her looking for a king on the river, but it was not meant to be as the {9-Spades} peeled off. Boeree's day came to an end at the hands of Dwan
