Fast Knocked Out by Read

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

German high roller Dietrich Fast has been eliminated by Chris Read in a hand which saw Fast shove six blinds from under the gun. Christina Read looked him up with {k-}{q-}, and while Fast's {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} connected on the {j-}{9-}{8-} flop and held on the {9-} turn, Read made a straight when a {10-} hit the river.

Van Zadelhoff Goes Call-Call-Call Towards a Million

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Steven Van Zadelhoff
Steven Van Zadelhoff

Steven van Zadelhoff has significantly increased his stack in the last level and the Dutch pro shared the details of a key hand that propelled him to a current stack of 1,130,000.

Van Zadelhoff called a raise in a battle of blinds and his opponents fired three shells on a board of {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. He called 48,000 on the flop, then 140,000 on the turn, and finally a 351,000-shove on the river.

Van Zadelhoff had almost exactly the same stack, just 1,000 fewer, and he made two pair with {6-Spades}{2-Spades}. His opponent bluffed it off on {k-}{j-} and van Zadelhoff is now among the tournament chip leaders.

David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker
