Chidwick Soars with a Monster Pot

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Stephen Chidwick raised to 26,000 in early position and was called by the player on his left. Georgios Sotiropoulos three-bet to 98,000 in the hijack and the action came back to Chidwick who four-bet to 225,000. The player stuck in the middle let his hand go and Sotiropoulos just called.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Chidwick led out with a bet of 75,000. Sotiropoulos called and the {6-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Chidwick made a slightly larger bet of 125,000 and Sotiropoulos came along for the {9-Clubs} on the river.

Chidwick pushed out a bet of 600,000, enough to cover the 421,000 chips Sotiropoulos had in front of him. After thinking for a brief moment, Sotiropoulos made the call. Chidwick turned over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for two pair which was enough to send Sotiropoulos to the rail with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

Chen and Spears Win Without Showdown

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Pete Chen raised to 25,000 on the button and the big blind called to see a {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, which went check, check. On the {10-Diamonds} turn, the big blind checked once more and Chen's bet worth 42,000 went through without resistance.

One hand later, Andy Spears opened to 25,000 and the very same opponent flat-called in the small blind. Heads-up to the {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, the small blind check-called for 20,000 and then check-folded the {a-Clubs} turn when facing another bet worth 50,000 by Spears.

Veksler Loses his Big Stack; Mcdiarmid Soars to the Top

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The TV crew reported a new big stack over on table 505 and that happened to be Zachary Mcdiarmid. Pavlo Veksler, in the meanwhile, dropped below a million and that made a clash between them very likely. This was confirmed by Roman Valerstein as the duo got it in with kings versus aces and Mcdiarmid prevailed to skyrocket into the top spot before the dinner break.
