Moncek Outflops Negreanu

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu is seated alongside Kevin Song, Barry Greenstein, and Ronnie Bardah, but it would be Michael Moncek who delivered a hit to his stack in his latest hand.

Negreanu raised from middle position and Moncek called in the big blind. The flop came {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Moncek led out with a bet.

Negreanu called, then called another bet on the {10-Diamonds} turn. The river came the {10-Clubs} and Moncek bet again. Negreanu quickly called.

Moncek turned over {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for flopped trips that turned into a full house. Negreanu let out a laugh and flashed {a-}{q-} before mucking.

Holloway Gets There on the River

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Chad Holloway

With about 5,000 in the middle the turn read {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Marty Roggentien check-called a bet from Chad Holloway.

The {10-Clubs} paired the board on the river and once Roggentien checked, Holloway fired another shell.

"Such a bad turn, and bad river," Roggentien sighed.

"I'll show regardless," replied Holloway.

Eventually Roggentien put in the chips to call and Holloway tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for two pair, queens and tens. Roggentien showed {9-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a flopped two pair that was counterfeit on the river before the cards went into the muck.

Gruneberg Cracks Kings on the River

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Eli Elezra took his seat at the start of this level at a table with Zachary Gruneberg, who finished sixth in this event last year.

In the last hand, Elezra and Gruneberg went three ways to a flop of {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. Elezra bet from the small blind, the big blind raised, and both Elezra and Gruneberg called.

The big blind bet again on the {2-Spades} turn and both opponents called. A bet on the {2-Diamonds} river was enough to get rid of Elezra, but Gruneberg.

"I have kings," the big blind said.

"Flush," Gruneberg replied, turning over {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} to win the pot.
