Jett Takes From Steinman

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Chip Jett and Ian Steinman went heads-up to a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Jett bet from middle position and Steinman, his feet casually propped up on a chair, called from the big blind

The turn came the {8-Clubs} and Steinman checked over to Jett, then called a bet. Both players checked the {10-Clubs} river and Jett showed down {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} which was good enough to win the pot.

Aggression Works for Shiller

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Brendan Shiller re-raised from the small blind and was called by the original raiser in the cutoff. Shiller led out on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop and was called.

The turn came the {k-Spades} and Shiller won the pot with another bet.

Sam Jaramillo was eliminated from this table a few hands earlier. "Slowroll Sammy got killed," Jesse Lonis said.

Schwartz Flops a Set to Take Chunk Out of Zhu

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Yueqi Zhu raised under the gun before James Schwartz put in a three-bet. The action folded back around to Zhu who made the call.

The flop came {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Zhu check-raised. Schwartz called.

The {9-Hearts} hit the turn and Zhu continued with a bet before Schwartz raised. Zhu put in some more chips to make the call.

The {7-Spades} hit the river and once checked to, Schwartz fired one last bullet, and Zhu called after saying, "I guess you have a set of queens."

Zhu was close to correct as Schwartz tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of jacks on the flop. Zhu frustratedly tossed his cards face up into the muck and the {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} were shown before the dealer flipped them face down and shoveled the pot to the Schwartz.

Yuval Bronshtein, Cory Loper, and Gordon Pike saw a flop of {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Loper bet from under the gun before Bronshtein re-raised. Pike called and Loper called all in for less.

The turn came the {9-Diamonds} and Pike called another bet from Bronshtein, creating a side pot. Pike checked dark as the river came the {k-Hearts}, and Bronshtein checked behind.

Both Pike and Loper showed {a-}{j-} while the defending champion mucked. Pike took the side pot, while he and Loper chopped the main pot.

Shack-Harris on the Wrong Side of Cooler

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris

With only two players in the pot, the flop read {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Brandon Shack-Harris check-called a bet from his opponent who requested to remain anonymous.

"You're drawing dead," said Shack-Harris' opponent.

The {j-Hearts} hit the turn and fireworks exploded. Shack-Harris check-raised his opponent who immediately put in a third bet as he dropped a stack of all mixed color chips across the line. Shack-Harris responded with a raise and his opponent snap-capped it. Shack-Harris called.

At this point, there was some confusion as some chips were mixed into the pot and the floor was called over to reconstruct the pot. After a couple of minutes, all bets were settled and the pot was made correct.

The {10-Clubs} completed the board and Shack-Harris check-called a final bet. His opponent slammed his hand face-up as he said "kings full," showing the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. Shack-Harris tabled {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for jacks full and the dealer pushed the pot to his opponent.

Greenstein Runs Into Kings

Level 8 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein and Kevin Song went heads-up to the turn on a board of {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}. First to act, Song put out a bet.

Greenstein came back with a raise and Song quickly called. The river came the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Song showed {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Greenstein could only muck. The Poker Hall of Famer has lost more than half his stack so far today, while Song is contending for the chip lead.
