Leonard Leaves Mathur With One Chip

2-7 Triple Draw

Alejandro Torres raised from the button before Sumir Mathur re-raised. Online star Patrick Leonard called the raise, as did Torres.

Mathur stood pat and bet, with both Torres and Leonard calling. Mathur patted again and bet. Only Leonard called this time after taking one.

Leonard took one more on the final draw and Mathur patted for the third time. He checked and Leonard bet out.

Mathur called, leaving himself just one yellow 1,000 chip behind, and Leonard showed him an 8-7 low to win the pot.

John Torrez, Edward Suh, and Nissen Osterneck went to the first draw. Everyone checked and took one on the second draw.

Osterneck opened with a bet, Torrez raised, and both opponents called. On the final draw, all three players stood pat.

Osterneck bet again, and again Torrez came back with a raise. Suh quickly folded, but Osterneck gave it some thought before also sending his cards into the muck.

"Show this one. Why not," Osterneck told Torrez, but Torrez calmly returned his hand to the dealer and collected the pot.

Nakano Takes From Ravindran

Dilip Ravindran limped in from the small blind and Yosh Nakano raised from the big blind. Ravindran called and drew three. Nakano drew two.

Ravindran check-called a bet after the first draw and drew one. Nakano drew two.

Ravindran bet after the second draw and Nakano called. Nakano took one after Ravindran stood pat.

It was another check-call from Ravindran after the third draw and Nakano turned over {6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}{a-}. Ravindran glanced back at his cards and tossed the losing hand in the muck while Nakano stacked up the pot.

Funkhouser Next to Bust

David Funkhouser was down to his last few thousand chips and facing a bet for his tournament life from Alejandro Torres.

Funkhouser was showing a pair of sevens after the final draw and decided to call. Torres showed him the bad news, turning over an eight Badugi to eliminate Funkhouser four spots away from the money.

Betil Takes the Last of Chan's Chips

A-5 Triple Draw

Ian Chan was in the big blind and had most of his stack already committed before Bariscan Betil raised. Chan called all in before even looking at his cards.

Both players drew two and Betil took another two on the second draw. "I'll take zero," Chan said emphatically, making a slashing motion with his hand.

Chan again stood pat on the third draw, as did Betil. Chan showed an eight-low, but Betil had a 7-6-5- to win the pot and eliminate Chan a few spots shy of the money.

Brown Wins with Number Two

Alex Epstein raised from the cutoff and Kimberly Stone three-bet from the small blind. Andrew Brown four-bet from the big blind and Epstein folded before Stone called.

Stone check-called a bet from Brown after drawing one on all three streets while Brown stood pat the whole way.

Brown turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to take the pot while Stone flashed the losing hand and tossed it in the muck.

Kassela Makes No. 2 Against Strelitz

Frank Kassela raised from the cutoff and Daniel Strelitz re-raised on the button. Both blinds got out of the way and Kassela called when action folded back around to him.

Both players drew two and checked the first draw. Kassela bet the second draw after taking one, then called when Strelitz raised again.

Strelitz patted the third draw and Kassela took one. He then led out and Strelitz quickly called.

"No. 2," Kassela said, turning over 7-6-4-3-2-.

"Would you have bet there? I thought you had something a little more raggedy," Kassela asked Strelitz following the hand, suspecting he might have been able to get even more from his opponent.

Engel Commits Most of It

Ari Engel was facing a bet from John Torrez on the second draw before he raised. Torrez called and stood pat, while Engel took one.

Engel paused for a moment before betting, leaving himself only a few thousand chips behind. Torrez called but mucked when Engel showed 7-6-5-4-2 as the two-time bracelet winner climbed back from the brink to a healthy stack.

Robert Campbell raised from the button and Edward Suh called from the small blind while Steve Zolotow came along from the big blind.

Suh drew one while Zolotow and Campbell drew two. All three players checked the first draw. On the second draw, all three players drew one.

Suh checked the second draw and Zolotow bet. Campbell thought for a moment before he got out of the way and Suh called. Suh drew one and Zolotow stayed pat.

Both players checked the final draw and Zolotow turned over {10-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, but Suh had {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} to win the pot with the number three.

Yoon Shows Negreanu a Nine

Heads-up after the second draw, Brian Yoon bet and Daniel Negreanu called.

Both players stood pat on the third draw and Yoon bet again. Negreanu flicked in a call.

"Nine," Yoon said, showing a 9-8-5-2 Badugi. Negreanu began muttering to himself before releasing the hand.
