Seidinsticker Stopped by a Seven

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tim Seidensticker raised to 2,500 from middle position and got a pair of calls behind him.

After betting 5,000 on the {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop and shedding neither opponent, he fired another 6,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn.

This time only Florin Haiduc in the cutoff called to see a heads-up river of the {9-Hearts}.

Seidensticker shut down and checked, as did Haiduc, who showed {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for winning trip sevens against Seidensticker's {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, which had been ahead on the turn with two pair.

Seidensticker Gets Some Value From Klatt

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With 12,500 in the middle on the {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} river, Tim Seidensticker bet 5,000 out of the big blind. Andreas Klatt reluctantly called and was shown the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for kings up. Klatt glanced over at the other side of the table but couldn't beat that as Seidensticker bounced back and added some chips again.

McCormick Moves All In; Gets Satisfaction

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Tom McCormick
Tom McCormick

On a turn board of {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, Tom McCormick faced a bet of 3,000 from a player in late position and a call by Matthew Gonzales in the hijack.

McCormick then began singing "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones as he tossed his final 14,500 forward, putting extra emphasis on the "I can't get no" part of the lyrics.

Tablemates and curious onlookers at nearby tables had a good laugh, while McCormick's opponents both folded, giving McCormick the satisfaction of taking down a pot to keep him alive in the tournament.

2022 WSOP Featured Females: Meet Wendeen Eolis, 1st Woman to Ever Cash Main Event

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Wendeen Eolis
Wendeen Eolis

In the mid 1980’s, women were considered no factor in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and other than the famous rounder and professional gambler Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston, poker players rarely made headlines in the mainstream press. That all changed when Wendeen Eolis became the first woman to cash at poker’s “Big Dance.”

In the 1986 WSOP Main Event, Eolis battled some of the best players in the world, including Amarillo Slim, in a field of 141 runners. She was on her way to a 25th-place finish for a $10,000, return on her buy-in, and permanent bragging rights as the first woman in history to cash in the WSOP Main Event.

Eolis attributes her 1986 WSOP performance to a year of poker tutoring from one of the best, a “relatively” conservative game plan, and cooperative cards. She told PokerNews, “Even today, women can win more by bluffing less than men.”

Bohlman Chips Back Up

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Eric Lescot raised to 3,000 in the cutoff and was called by Scott Bohlman on the button and Tong Li in the big blind. The {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop was checked by all and Li check-folded the {4-Hearts} turn when Lescot bet and Bohlman called.

After the {6-Clubs} river, both checked and Lescot tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a pair of kings. Bohlman had that beat with the {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for two pair and won the pot.

Laplante Bounces Back With a Triple Up

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Following an open raise to 2,500 and two calls, Ryan Laplante moved all-in for the last 13,900 and then saw two bigger stacks behind get their chips in. While everything was happening, Igor Zektser joked around what a setup hand it was as the cards had been turned over while Zak Laikin claimed Zektser would be "labeled as the other player in the hand".

Laplante and his {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} were up against the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs} of Michael Duek and {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades} board instantly provided aces full and Laplante leaped back into contention while Duek felted the other player.

Negreanu Eliminated by Valden in Huge Pot

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Daniel Negreanu's seat was recently seen empty, with confirmation coming from his former tablemates that he busted in a huge pot with Robert Valden.

As told by the table, Valden raised to 2,000 under the gun and was called by Negreanu to his immediate left, David "ODB" Baker in the small blind, and the player in the big blind.

On a {k-}{j-}{8-} rainbow flop, action was checked to Valden who bet 5,000. Negreanu then raised to 20,000 and the blinds folded.

Valden then made it 69,000 and Negreanu went all in for approximately 130,000. Valden called to put Negreanu at risk.

Valden had {k-}{k-}{10-}{2-}, while Negreanu had {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. The turn and river came {q-}{q-}, ending Negreanu's night with a set-over-set cooler.
