2024 World Series of Poker
Action was joined on the river with the board reading 7♣4♣J♦J♥5♠ and a pot that had about 21,000 in it. From the small blind, big stack Chongxian Yang fired 13,000. Max Kingstone was under the gun raised to 43,000, leaving himself only one big blind behind. Yang thought for about a minute before he folded.
The next hand Jason Hill raised from early position, Max Kingstone three-bet from big blind, Hill jammed is shorter stack and Kingstone called.
Jason Hill: A♠K♠
Max Kingstone: 10♦10♠
The board ran out J♠4♣8♥7♣5♠ and Hill was gone as Kingstone added more to his stack.
The under-the-gun player opened 3,000 and David Siegel defended the big blind.
The dealer spread a flop of 5♠2♠2♣ and Siegel check-called a bet of 2,000.
The 6♣ turn and the K♠ river were checked down and Siegel tabled J♠J♥ to take the pot.
James Sgro opened to 5,000 from middle position and then called after Mike Matusow three-bet to 12,000 out of the small blind.
Matusow continued for 15,000 following the Q♥9♦J♠ flop. Sgro thought for a while before deciding to lay down his hand and was rewarded with some good news from Matusow as he flipped over Q♠Q♣ for the flopped set, telling Sgro that he had opted for a large sizing as he thought his opponent held jacks for a lower set.
Vanessa Selbst raised to 3,500 under the gun before Jeremy Schoenberg three-bet to 10,500 in the cutoff. The small blind then moved all in for 31,500.
Selbst went into the tank for around a minute before she folded, but Schoenberg snap-called.
All-In Player: J♠J♥
Jeremy Schoenberg: A♠K♦
"It's a classic," the at-risk player said, but he wound up on the wrong side of the coin flip after the board ran out 7♥A♦3♥5♠3♣ to send him to the rail.
"I had you beat pre-flop," Selbst told Schoenberg after the hand, saying she folded two tens.
The pot amounted to 40,000 when Georgina Vuksanovic checked from the small blind to Pakinai Lisawad in early position on a completed board of Q♥K♥Q♦3♣2♦. Lisawad then tossed 50,000 chips in the middle.
Vuksanovic thought out loud for a minute or so before finding a call. Lisawad tabled A♠Q♣ for trip queens and Vuksanovic mucked her cards.
Action was picked up with the cards on their back and Hiroyuki Noda all in at risk versus a player in middle position.
Hiroyuki Noda: 7♠7♦
Middle Position: A♥Q♦
Noda was ahead with his pocket sevens but was racing for his tournament life. But when the board ran out 3♦4♦J♣5♠6♠ Noda sevens were still best and secured the double up.
