Witteles Scores Big With Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a board of JJ7J with a large pot already in the middle, the player in the cutoff bet 18,000 and Todd Witteles called on the button.

The 8 completed the board and it was checked to Witteles, who put 20,000 into the middle. His opponent looked him up and Witteles turned over AA for the nut full house, which was met with a frustrated muck to send the pot Witteles' way.

Following a button raise by Adrian Garcia Galipienso, Simon Wilson called and they headed to the 10103 flop. Wilson check-raised from 2,500 to 8,000 only for Garcia Galipienso to make it 18,500 to go. Wilson called and they saw the 4 on the turn. Wilson now led for 10,500 and Garcia Galipienso raised to 27,000.

The levelling war went to the Spaniard as Wilson tank-folded.

Love him or hate him, Sean Perry is back in the poker world — at least for one day — after a one-year hiatus to compete in the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.

The controversial poker pro turned sports bettor had built up a stack above 200,000 — 60,000 is the starting stack — by the Day 2abc dinner break on Sunday. During that break, he answered some questions about his return to the game for PokerNews, where he made some bold claims and addressed his haters.

Victoria Livschitz: AK All in
Jeremy Surinach: AA

Tajiou's Trip Aces Get Paid

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Mounir Tajiou opened 3,500 in early position and Michael Perrone three-bet 10,000 next to act. The action folded back around to Tajiou and he made the call.

When the A53 flop hit the felt, Tajiou check-called a bet of 5,000 from Perrone.

The 10 turn received checks from both players and the A fell on the river. Tajiou led for 17,000, and Perrone tank-called to see the A6 of Tajiou before mucking his hand.
