2024 World Series of Poker
With about 10,000 in the middle, the turn read A♠4♣4♠6♣ and Eric Kurtzman checked to his only opponent in the hand, Yannick Capocetti, who fired 8,200.
After a short tank, Kurtzman put in a raise to 18,700, and that was enough to earn the pot as Capocetti mucked his hand.
Naoki Matsumoto raised to 2,000 and Sven Stiel three-bet to 6,000. The shove by Matsumoto followed and Stiel called all-in.
Stiel's A♦K♥ were ahead versus K♠J♣ and that remained to be the case throughout the 9♣4♣3♦2♣K♦ runout, as Stiel doubled for 29,000 thanks to his superior kicker.
Thomas Mcnicholas opened to 2,200 from middle position and was three-bet to 7,500 by Julien Martini in the cutoff. Action folded back around to Mcnicholas, who called.
Mcnicholas check-called an 8,000 bet from Martini on the 10♣A♦8♦ flop and Mcnicholas checked again on the Q♣ turn.
Martini barreled for 12,000 and Mcnicholas announced he was all in, which got a quick fold from Martini to send Mcnicholas the pot.
Harry Lodge and Anthony Desai built a pot of around 20,000 as they went heads-up to a flop of 6♠7♦5♠.
Lodge then bet 6,000 from the hijack and Desai, in the cutoff, moved all in for 86,500. Lodge went deep into the tank, taking several minutes as he constantly rechecked his cards and looked over at Desai.
He eventually opted to fold and Desai took down the pot uncontested.
The board read 9♦9♠8♠A♥2♣ on the river. Justin Young bet 6,500 from the cutoff into a pot of 12,500. Christopher Ackerman was in the small blind and raised to 16,000 which was for nearly all his chips as he left just 100 chips behind.
Young mulled it over and studied Ackerman. And eventually he made the decision to fold. "Good bluff" he said which Ackerman neither confirmed nor denied.
