Patrick Leonard was standing up and at risk in a three-way preflop all in.
Xuejian Sun: K♦K♥
Patrick Leonard: A♠K♣
David Fhima: J♠J♣
David Fhima had the largest stack and could take out two players but Xuejian Sun was in best position to triple up with his kings. New member to the table, Daniel Negreanu filmed the action for his vlog as did Mayuko Morita as this was about to be a very well documented run out.
The flop came Q♦A♦5♠ to launch Leonard into the lead. The turn was the 5♣ and the river the 7♦ to give Leonard the big pot, bust Sun and take a big chunk away from Fhima.

Heads-up on a flop of 8♣5♥2♠, a player on the button bet 26,000 before Dmitry Yurasov moved all in for 33,000 in the big blind. The button called to put him at risk.
Dmitry Yurasov: A♣8♦
Opponent: J♣8♥
Yurasov was ahead with his pair of eights, ace-kicker as the A♥ turn improved him to two pair and left his opponent drawing dead. The river was the 4♣ and Yurasov doubled up.
Adam Walton, last year's third-place finisher, is also at this table.

Stefan Kegley had become very short-stacked and moved all-in from the button for roughly 4,000 chips. Burke Delange called from the small blind before Francisco Caballo shoved all in out of the big blind. Delange folded and Kegley had a chance to triple up.
Stefan Kegley: A♠10♠
Francisco Caballo: K♠J♠
The runout of 10♥4♣4♠8♣9♣ meant Kegley would stay in the Main Event after Caballo was unable to improve.

Jonathan Newman opened 2,200 under the gun and Kyung Lee three-bet to 6,500 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded back around to Newman and he put in a four-bet to 15,000. Lee called.
When the K♥6♦3♥ flop hit the felt, Newman bet 7,000, and Lee made the call.
The Q♦ fell on the turn and Newman slowed down with a check. Lee announced all-in, and Newman snap-called his remaining 39,900.
Jonathan Newman: K♣K♦
Kyung Lee: Q♣Q♠
The 2♥ river changed nothing as Newman pulled in the double.

A situation arose at Anuschka Van Lent's table as a player raised to 14,000 in early position. Van Lent then announced raise and put in only 15,000. The floor was called over and it was ruled that Van Lent had to make it at least 23,000.
"I have to do it," her opponent said.
"I wouldn't if I were you," Van Lent replied.
The early-position player then tanked for a few minutes. "Alright, guys, it's been a good tournament," he told his tablemates before moving all in for 65,000.
Van Lent then tanked herself for a few minutes before she called.
All-In Player: K♠K♣
Anuschka Van Lent: A♥A♣
"I was afraid of that," the at-risk player said upon seeing Van Lent's aces. The board ran out 8♥9♣2♥7♣2♦ and Van Lent, an actress and social media influencer with more than 600,000 Instagram followers, took the pot and sent her opponent to the rail.

Heads-up to the Q♦8♠5♦5♥ turn, Martin De Knijff bet 10,200 in the small blind and Shota Nakanishi called on the button. The 7♥ on the river was checked and De Knijff was about to show his cards when Nananishi revealed the Q♥9♥ for queens and fives.
That won the pot, as his table neighbour sent his cards into the muck.

It remains unclear when the chips went into the middle but Salvatore Calandra was relieved at the end when he said "that's the first one I win today". His 9♥9♠ had flopped bottom set while the Q♥8♥ of Tauan Naves had turned a straight on A♥10♠9♦J♣. However, the A♠ river paired the board and Calandra doubled for 31,600 with his full house.
