Laplante Forces Out Iasnogorodskii

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Action was picked up on the J43 flop in a hand between Aleksandr Iasnogorodskii from under the gun and Ryan Laplante in the hijack with 17,000 in the middle already. Iasnogorodskii led for 5,000 and Laplante called.

On the 2 turn, Iasnogorodskii fired again for 15,000 and Laplante stuck around.

Iasnogorodskii slowed down with a check on the 3 river as Laplante did not take long before he jammed for his final 31,000. Iasnogorodskii, with the slightly covering stack, let it go rather quickly

Steven Loube raised to 1,500 from early position before Ryan Bambrick three-bet to 5,300 from the next seat. When it got back to Loube, he called.

Loube checked to Bambrick on the 297 flop and Bambrick bet 11,900. Loube check-jammed for around 40,000, and Bambrick instantly called.

Ryan Bambrick: AAQQ

Bambrick had aces and a flush draw, but Loube had some outs he could hit to chop the pot or scoop. However, the rest of the board came 97, keeping Bambrick's bullets ahead, and ending Loube's tournament.

Lonis Takes it on the River

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Bruno Furth raised to 1,800 from early position with Jesse Lonis calling from middle position and David Funkhouser defending out of the big blind.

After Funkhouser checked the 87A flop, Furth bet 4,000, which only Lonis called.

Furth continued with a bet of 11,000 on the 7 turn. Lonis called again.

The 6 appeared on the river and Furth opted to check. Lonis bet the size of the pot, prompting a fold from Furth.

"How Do I Not Scoop This?" as Rapaski Gets Half

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Daniel Blum potted to 1,800 from the hijack and Corel Theuma called in the cutoff.

"Oooo baby," announced an excited Ryan Rapaski as he shoveled his final 3,900 into the middle from the button, and both opponents called.

The KJ752 board was checked down.

Ryan Rapaski: AJ52 All in
Daniel Blum: AKQQ
Corel Theuma: K433

Rapaski won the high with two pair and Theuma took the low with his four-three.

"How do I not scoop this?" lamented Rapaski, "I had two pair, nut flush draw, and the nut low draw, then the dealer finds a red deuce."

Massive Cooler Near Money Bubble of WSOP's Biggest Buy-In So Far

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Ben Tollerene

One of the biggest coolers we'll see at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) took place in the biggest buy-in event so far this summer.

Aces versus kings is always a brutal set-up, but a set-over-set involving those two premium holdings is as painful as it gets. But that's exactly what happened near the money bubble on Day 2 of Event #32: $50,000 High Roller.

PokerNews' Calum Grant captured the hand between Ben Tollerene and Joey Weissman, which took place at the end of Level 13 with blinds of 15,000/30,000/30,000 and 34 players remaining with 26 spots paid.

Xixiang Luo opened to 1,000 from early position and was called by Maksim Pisarenko in the hijack, Paul Zappulla on the button, and defending champion Sean Troha in the small blind.

On the 732 flop, it checked to Pisarenko who bet 1,800. Zappulla folded and Troha called before Luo check-potted to 12,200. Pisarenko quickly folded but Troha called.

The 9 turn checked through to the 6 river which saw Troha lead for 25,000. Luo would go deep into the tank for over two minutes before he tossed in the call. He got the bad news as Troha tabled A1094 for the nut low and a flush which was good for the scoop.
