Batt Takes a Small One

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Sridhar Sangannagari raised to 800 from under the gun, and both the small blind and Jordan Batt, in the big blind, called.

All three players checked on the 4A4 flop, which gave Batt the green light to take over the betting lead on the J turn. When the small blind checked, he put out a bet of 1,500, and only Sangannagari called.

Batt put out another bet of 2,500 on the J river, and this time Sangannagari decided just to fold.

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Seymour Ogeare
Seymour Ogeare

More than 30,000 was already in the middle as Thomas Baggaley and Seymour Ogeare went to the turn on a board of 256Q. Baggaley then bet 12,500 from the cutoff and Ogeare called on the button.

The river was the 9 and Baggaley moved all in. Ogeare snap-called with 43 for a flopped straight, while Baggaley tossed 66 into the muck as other players at the table let out a collective gasp.

The stacks were counted down and Ogeare had 24,900 remaining. Baggaley had him covered by just 1,500 and was left on an extreme short stack.

Ferreira Calls Off Incorrectly

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Henrique Camara Ferreira from early position and Mateusz Moolhuizen from the button were involved in a three-bet pot that had grown to over 30,000 by the river with the completed board reading J6234 after Ferreira had check-called a bet on the turn.

Ferreira checked for a final time to Moolhuizen who bet enough to put Ferreira all-in for his final 20,500. Over three minutes would come off the clock as Ferreira lamented, "Sick spot," before he finally slid forward the call.

Henrique Camara Ferreira: 88 All in
Mateusz Moolhuizen: AA

Ferreira called off with his eights but was always in tough shape against the aces of Moolhuizen who got max value as Ferreira hit the exit.

Delval Takes His Seat at the Ladies Table

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Thea Booysen
Thea Booysen

Women traditionally make up a small percentage of the Main Event field, so it's a statistical anomaly that three of them, Xiaoqiong Liu, Sara Skinner, and Thea Booysen, are seated side-by-side at the same table.

Frederic Delval just arrived to take his seat at this table. "Bonjour monsieur, and madame," he said to his new tablemates.

"Seat 1, the South African. She's a sniper. So good," tablemate Jonathan Kramer said about Booysen, who is doing the best of the trio and is up to around 80,000 so far.

Action was followed from the river with two players looking at a 10J3JQ board. The pot stood at around 10,500.

Ren Lin checked the small blind and Qi Hu bet 10,000 from the big blind.

Lin asked Hu how much he had behind, taking his time before raising to 32,000. Hu sat back in his seat, and eventually called.

Lin showed JQ for the boat, and Hu mucked his hand.

In the next hand, Lin raised the button to 800 and Hu called the small blind. Gary Herstein also defended the big blind.

All players checked the J102 flop to see the J turn.

Action was checked all the way down to the 7 river with Herstein stating "Ace-High", before showing A9. Hu mucked and Lin showed AK, just pipping Herstein for the pot.

Pavels Spirins
Pavels Spirins

Pavels Spirins raised to 700 in middle position. Samy Boujmala called in the hijack, after which Michael Chafetz defended his big blind. The trio checked the 6108 flop, causing the 9 turn to appear.

Chafetz checked again, prompting Spirins to bet 800. Boujmala quickly mucked his cards, but Chafetz tossed in a call.

The 2 river saw Spirins size up to 2,800. Chafetz check-called to showdown, but he mucked his cards when Spirins showed 88 for a set of eights.
