Gelinski Takes a Big Piece Out of Chen

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Alex Gelinski opened the cutoff to 600 before James Chen three-bet to 1,800 on the button. Gelinski then put in a four-bet to 6,600, utilizing one of each chip denomination, and Chen called.

On the 976 flop, Gelinski continued for 3,500 before Chen raised to 9,500, and Gelinski called.

Gelinski then checked the K turn to Chen who bet 13,000 but Gelinski was not going anywhere as he put in the call.

The J river quickly checked through as Gelinski tabled AK for the winner and Chen mucked.

Allen Shoves and Shows Bluff

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Benjamin Luber and Mike Allen arrived on the QA259 river with about 25,000 in the pot. Luber checked in middle position, prompting Allen to move all in from the cutoff.

Luber's stack of 37,300 was covered, and he spent about five minutes in the tank. After several apologies for taking his time, he found a fold.

"Do you want to see it?" Allen asked as he was handed the pot. Luber gave an affirmative answer, and Allen tabled KJ for a stone-cold bluff.

The J was turned and both checked to the 4 river.

Lamb bet 9,000 on the river which saw Elias fold, handing the pot to Lamb.

There are a number of other notables at the table, making it an interesting Day 1 battle for the players.

Leonard Coolers Jones to Double

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Patrick Leonard from under the gun and Brian Jones from the big blind were tangled in a massive pot with around 65,000 in the middle by the river with the board reading K101038.

Jones checked to Leonard on the river who jammed for his remaining 18,700. Over three minutes would roll off the clock before Jones flicked in a chip to call.

Leonard showed AA for the winner as Jones tapped the table and pushed his cards into the middle. Another player at the table indicated that they must be turned over for an all-in situation, but Leonard kindly added that he does not care if his opponent just mucks. Jones then flipped over AK as he could not get away, and Leonard collected the full double.

Four players saw a flop of 473 when Galen Hall bet 2,500 from middle position. Only Martin McCloskey in the small blind called.

Both players checked the 5 turn. Hall then bet 5,400 on the 5 river and McCloskey called.

Hall turned over QQ and McCloskey almost ripped his cards in half before tossing them back to the dealer.

Shannon Shorr and Taylor Paur were recently spotted in the field.

Fight Didn't Last Long

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Dan Sepiol started the action by raising to 600 from the hijack. Mathieu Choffardet called on the button.

After the small blind folded, Steven Jones made it 4,200 to go. To his surprise, both Sepiol and Choffardet called without hesitation.

"Is it too late to just call?" Jones joked.

When the flop hit J210, Jones checked. Sepiol bet 5,000 chips.

Choffardet and Jones quickly threw in their cards.

Honkonen Rebuilding

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Charles Honkonen raised from under the gun to 600, and action folded round to Vamsi Magam, on the button. Magam gave Honkonen a good look up and down, trying to get a look at his opponent's stack. "I started the hand with 19,900", Honkonen advised. Magam opted just to call, and the remaining players to act folded.

Both players checked the J45 flop before Honkonen picked the betting lead back up with a bet of 1,500 on the 9 turn. Magam made the call, and the two took a river.

The 8 didn't slow Honkonen, who flicked out a bet of 2,500. This time, Magam ceded, returning his cards to the dealer and surrendering the pot to Honkonen.

Tanupat Punjarojanakul
Tanupat Punjarojanakul

Tanupat Punjarojanakul made it 700 from under the gun before Natalie Teh three-bet out of the cutoff to 2,500. Punjarojanakul called to see a flop.

Punjarojanakul check-called a bet of 2,000 from Teh on the 5KJ flop.

The turn came the 6 and Punjarojanakul check-called another bet from Teh, this time for 6,500.

When the 4 hit the river, Punjarojanakul led out for 11,000. Teh reluctantly called and then mucked after seeing Punjarojanakul's rivered flush holding A8.

Raise or Fold

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Victor Stauffer raised to 600 from early position, and was immediately met with a three-bet by Eivind Vedholm, one seat to his left. Vedholm made it 2,200, but that wouldn't be the final price to see a flop.

Once action got to Shardul Aramudhan in the cutoff, he wanted to play for more, putting in a four-bet to 6,200.

Action folded to Stauffer, who folded, leaving Vedholm to deal with Aramudhan. Vedholm had no interest in continuing either, though, and also returned his cards to the dealer.
