Selbst Has Yu Notched

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

Lei Yu raised to 2,500 in first position and Vanessa Selbst called in early position.

The flop rolled out 9J9 and Yu bet 3,000 to see Selbst call.

On the turn 4, Yu bet 6,000 and Selbst elected to call a second time.

Both players checked the river 2 and Yu turned over 77 for nines and sevens. It was no good against Selbst who turned over 88 for nines and eights, leaving the WSOP bracelet winner to take down the pot.

The Snappiest of Calls

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Seeing two limps in front of him, Jon-Michael Gisler raised to 5,500 from the hijack. Both the limpers called, including Brandon Takao, but the rest of the table folded.

Gisler continued with a bet of 8,000 on the 228 flop, and only Takao called.

The turn 7 saw another check-call from Takao, this time for a more substantial 20,000.

When the dealer burned and turned the 9 river, Takao announced "All-in". No sooner had the words left his mouth than Gisler had announced "Call", whilst immediately turning over 99 for a rivered full house.

Takao turned over his A5, as was necessary, before cutting out the chips from his stack to double up his neighbour.

The turn saw Camp and Meriem check, and Lauer raise to 5,000. Camp called and Meriem folded.

The 8 fell on the river and Camp bet out 12,500. Lauer folded and passed the pot to Camp.

Loire Gets Aces

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Julien Loire started the action with a 2,200 bet in middle position and only got one caller in Thai Ha in hijack.

They saw a flop of 3QQ which both players checked. The 3 fell and Loire check-called Ha's bet of 2,500.

Both players tapped the table on the river 10. Loire showed AA which prompted Ha to fold his hand.

Ramos Takes Out Khouri, Saved by a Greer Fold

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Natalie Hof Ramos
Natalie Hof Ramos

Natalie Hof Ramos raised it up from under the gun and Garrett Greer three-bet on her left. John Khouri was in the big blind and four-bet shoved all in for just over 30,000. Hof Ramos reshoved all in and Greer said he made a tight laydown by folding ace-king.

John Khouri: 77All in
Natalie Hof Ramos: AA

The flop came QxJx5x and Hof Ramos was still out front with her pair of aces. The 10x and 9x runout was no help to Khouri who saw his chips evaporate and land in the lap of Hof Ramos who was thankful for Greer letting his hand go.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 497, Namhyung Kim bet 8,000 from the big blind and Ondrej Drozd called in the hijack.

Kim moved all in on the J turn and Drozd quickly called for his last 23,500. He showed J10 for top pair, while Kim had K5.

The river came the 6 to improve Kim to a running flush. "Oh, wow. So dirty," a tablemate said as Drozd was sent to the rail.

Reid Eliminated by Grimes

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jim Reid during the 2024 WSOP
Jim Reid during the 2024 WSOP

Following an open raise to 2,400, Jim Reid moved all-in for the last 11,000 with his three last chips in the Rec Poker shot glass like he had done in the 2024 WSOP Main Event as well. Sean Grimes then reraised to 20,000 in the big blind and the initial raiser folded.

Jim Reid: A6 All in
Sean Grimes: AA

"I got him right where I want him," the always jovial Canadian joked. One six came on the 965 flop but the 3 turn and 4 river were blanks. He shook hands with everyone at the table and wished them good luck before parting ways. Grimes won the chips and the shot glass.

Lodden Thinks...Yeager Has Aces

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Johnny Lodden was in early position and put in a reraise of 15,000 before the flop. Scott Yeager then made it 40,000 in the big blind.

Lodden agonized over the decision for several minutes, apologizing to his tablemates. He eventually folded KK face up, and Yeager proved his instincts correct by showing him AA.

"I had a bad feeling," Lodden said.
