Slowplay Gone Wrong for Rocco Against Yaroshevskyy

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Anthony Bakri opened to 2,500 from under the gun and was called by Lucas Cortijo two to his left, Michael Rocco from middle position, and Igor Yaroshevskyy in the big blind.

The 754 flop checked through to the 7 turn which saw Yaroshevskyy lead for 7,000. Bakri and Cortijo quickly folded before Rocco put in the call after a small tank.

The 8 river then checked through as Yaroshevskyy tabled 86 for the flopped straight. Rocco revealed that he had KK as his slowplay cost him the pot and Yaroshevskyy was the one to collect.

No Slowing Down from Nadal

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

John Petro kicked the action off with a raise to 2,500 from the hijack. Jose Nadal followed by putting his big stack to use, three-betting to 8,000 on the button. Action folded back to Petro, who made the call.

The dealer spread a 10KJ flop, and when Petro checked in flow, Nadal continued for 6,300. Again, Petro called.

There was no sign of easing off the pressure from Nadal on the 5 turn. Petro checked to him once more, and this time Nadal put a more substantial bet of 26,200 into the middle.

That was enough to see Petro return his cards to the dealer, surrendering the pot.

Zeng Coolers Cabrini for the KO

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Linglin Zeng

Action picked up on the turn with a little over 8,000 in the middle in a hand between Andre Cabrini from the small blind and Linglin Zeng from the big blind.

With the board reading A97Q, Cabrini led for 5,000 before Zeng min-raised to 10,000. Cabrini then shoved for his remaining 22,500 and Zeng snapped it off.

Andre Cabrini: 97 All in
Linglin Zeng: 99

It was a brutal cooler with Cabrini flopping two pair, only to be drawing dead against Zeng's set of nines. The two saw the irrelevant 5 on the river as Cabrini left the room in unfortunate fashion.

Alex Lindop raised from under the gun. Huck Seed, the 1996 main event champion, moved all in from the small blind with his last 8,000 or so chips. Lindop made the call.

Huck Seed: AQAll in
Alex Lindop: AA

Seed needed significant help and almost got it from a runout 7310J5 that gave him a gutshot straight draw on the turn. It didn't get there and his main event is over.

Jang Takes from Nguyen & Annouza

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

On a completed board of 75Q42 and with roughly 25,000 in the pot, Hyunsick Jang bet 22,000 from the big blind with Khoi Nguyen calling from middle position. Christopher Annouza was also in the hand from the cutoff and went into the tank. After thinking for over a minute, Annouza put in the call.

Jang showed the nut straight with 86 to win the pot, as both of his opponents returned their cards face down to the dealer.

Heitor Saraiva raised to 2,500 in late position and Jonathan Tamayo called on the button which saw Bryan Buonocore call in the big blind.

Action checked through on the 1044 flop to the J turn where Buonocore bet 2,400 and Saraiva folded. Tamayo responded by raising to 7,500 and Buonocore called.

Buonocore checked the 6 river over to Tamayo who moved all in for 16,800 effective. After some thought he tossed his cards into the muck, ceding the pot to the defending WSOP Main Event champion.

Trujillo Doubles Through Hansen

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Francisco Trujillo was already all in and at risk for 26,300 total from the small blind against Gus Hansen, who had Trujillo covered on the button.

Francisco Trujillo: A9All in
Gus Hansen: JJ

The 610K flop and 4 turn looked good for Hansen and bleak for Trujillo, but the A river paired Trujillo's ace at the last possible moment — awarding him the double up through Hansen.

Rosen Rivers a Flush

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Andrew Rosen picked up QJ in middle position and opened to 2,500, getting a call from Andres Carrera in the big blind with A5.

The 23J flop brought top pair for Rosen, who continued for 2,200 after Carreramesa checked. Carrera stuck around with a gutshot.

The A on the turn paired Carrera, but he checked again and Rosen opted to check behind.

When the 3 landed on the river, completing Rosen’s flush, Carrera led out for 3,000. Rosen responded with a raise to 11,500, and after some thought, Carrera let go of his top pair. Rosen dragged in a nicely sized pot.
