Barash could just show ace-high with A6, while Mariwalla had a slightly better ace-high with A8 and his eight kicker played to take the pot.

Queens Are Good for Becker

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Following a raise to 80,000, Daniel Becker three-bet to 300,000 out of the small blind. Anton Beno in the big blind had slightly more than that behind and moved all-in to force out the initial raiser and Becker called.

Anton Beno: AK All in
Daniel Becker: QQ

The 543 flop gave Beno even more outs with the wheel draw and nut flush draw, but he bricked the 9 turn and J river.

"Queens are good for you man," Joshua Beckenstein said and Becker replied "I am telling you".

The table chat after revealed that Becker was ready to play eleven hours today despite the fact his flight was booked tomorrow, which he may now have to change after all.

Buckingham Building a Palace After Lucky River

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

More than 1,000,000 was already in the middle as Richard Buckingham and Denis Strebkov went to the turn on a board of A10J4. Buckingham then bet 400,000 from the small blind and Strebkov called in middle position.

The river was the J and Buckingham bet another 600,000. Strebkov quickly called and Buckingham turned over J10 for a rivered full house. Strebkov let out a loud sigh as he picked up his cards.

"King-queen?" Buckingham asked, and Strebkov indeed tossed KQ into the muck as the massive pot was pushed to Buckingham.

Minghini showed AQ for two pair, and Kasic added his AJ to the pile of mucked cards in defeat.

Swift Flops the Nuts, Sverko Makes a Tight Fold

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

David Swift raised to 85,000 with AK from under the gun and Gregor Sverko called in early position holding 88.

Swift flopped the nuts on 497 as he made a flush, and he bet 50,000. Sverko called and picked up an open-ended straight draw on the 6 turn. Swift, still with the nuts, fired 100,000, and again Sverko called.

The 10 river was disastrous for Sverko as he made a straight, and was faced with a bet as Swift threw out 575,000. Sverko smirked and rechecked his cards a few times.

"Very tight fold," said Sverko as he threw his cards away. Swift didn't show, but Sverko will give himself a pat on the back when he watches that back later.
