Shutley Flops Set in Three-Bet Pot

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Mark Shutley
Mark Shutley

Under the gun, Mark Shutley raised to 85,000. Tony Gregg three-bet to 225,000 two seats over, and Shutley called when the action folded back to him.

The 547 flop saw Shutley check-call the 185,000 chips Gregg splashed in the middle.

The 4 turn was checked by both players, seeing the 2 arrive on the river. Shutley piled in a bet of 300,000, which Gregg quickly called. Shutley revealed 77 for a flopped set, leaving Gregg's hero-call with AQ in the dust.

Lubawski Can't Beat Sturm

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Matthew Lubawski got the last of 200,000 or so chips into the middle preflop against Leon Sturm. Once the remainder of the table folded, the cards were turned over.

Matthew Lubawski: K9 All in
Leon Sturm: AQ

Lubawski needed to connect with the board if he was to stay in the Main Event. However, Sturm's ace-high remained best on the 26627 runout, and Lubawski headed to the payout desk.

Umerova's Journey Ended by Azoulay

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Safiya Umerova made it 180,000 from under the gun, leaving herself just 15,000 behind. Jonathan Azoulay was in the small blind and called.

On the KJ9 flop, Azoulay checked, Umerova bet 15,000, and Azoulay called.

Safiya Umerova: Q3 All in
Jonathan Azoulay: A4

Umerova was live to a queen, ten, or a three, but didn't find any of them on the J turn. No help arrived on the 6 river, and Umerova made her way to the exit.

Value or Bluff?

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Daniele Primerano and Sergio Veloso were heads-up in a pot that had around 600,000 in the middle already. The board read 8424 and Primerano check-called a bet of 360,000 from Veloso.

The river was the 3 and Primerano checked again. Veloso counted out a bet of 1,100,000 and Primerano went into the tank. Over a minute had passed and Primerano decided to lay his hand down.

Veloso windmilled his JJ face up onto the table and Primerano said that he couldn't beat it.

"Value or bluff?" Primerano asked.

"I don't know. Depends what you had," Veloso replied.

There were approximately 500,000 chips already in the middle on a completed board of 4A28Q. Scott Allacher bet 160,000 and was met by a raise to 775,000 by Giorgiy Skhulukhiya in an early position. Allacher went deep into the tank, and after thinking for quite some time, Allacher made the call.

Skhulukhiya flipped over the nuts with A7, and Allacher couldn't do anything but muck his cards and begin riffling his remaining stack of just 120,000.

Blom Blossoms With Kings

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Viktor Blom raised to 80,000 in the cutoff. It folded to Andrew Hedley in the big blind, who tossed in calling chips. Another 80,000 flew in from Blom on the 103Q flop, which Hedley check-called.

After Hedley checked a second time, Blom sized up to 240,000 on the 8 turn. Hedley spent a good while in the tank before he let go of his second pair, seeing Blom cross the seven-figure mark.

David Swift made it 80,000 to go with 55 from the hijack and Will Kassouf looked down at AJ in the cutoff and called. Gregor Sverko, on the button, three-bet to 320,000 with AQ.

"You're allowed to get away with one," said Swift as he folded. Kassouf was still to act behind.

"I was gonna three-bet with this hand," mentioned Kassouf in reference to Swift. "Maybe I'll save myself. Or are you repping a stronger hand than you actually have, 'cos you've got the button." Kassouf continued.

Eventually, Kassouf folded face up, and Sverko showed his cards as he took it down.

Peretz Finds a Miracle to Triple

Level 23 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Yaniv Peretz
Yaniv Peretz

Matija Kajtez raised to 80,000 under the gun before Yaniv Peretz reraised to 205,000 in early position, leaving himself just one 5,000 chip behind. Bogdan Chornyy then four-bet to 330,000 in the hijack.

The table spent some time determining if Chornyy had made a legal raise before it was ruled that his bet stood. "That guy is probably good at math. A GTO wizard," a tablemate said about Chornyy.

The action went back on Kajtez who reraised to 780,000. Chornyy eventually folded and Peretz put in his last chip.

Yaniv Peretz: QQ All in
Matija Kajtez: AA

Peretz had run his queens into Kajtez's aces and fell further behind on the 1086 flop as Kajtez picked up a flush draw. Peretz had one out going to the turn, which came the 10 to open up an additional out. The river was the Q and Peretz spiked a full house to earn the triple up.

"Can't get rid of him," tablemate Frank Flowers said.

"I used my one time. Not his one time, my one time," Peretz's fellow Israeli Gabi Livshitz said while watching on the rail.
