Ostapchenko Rivers Survival

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Andrew Ostapchenko
Andrew Ostapchenko

Action was picked up preflop, with Andrew Ostapchenko already all in for his last 6600 under the gun. A side pot was created as Feng Yu in the hijack, Yifan Tang on the button, and Santhosh Suvarna in the small blind all went off to a flop, too.

On a flop of 4AK Tang went all in for 34,800 when checked to, and the other two folded, confirming his side pot.

Andrew Ostapchenko: KQJ4 All in
Yifan Tang: 6532

Tanh had an inside wrap and got there instantly on the 3 turn. Ostapchenko could only survive with a ten, and by some miracle, the 10 river handed him the main pot.

Three ways to the 476 flop where Aaron Kupin and Matt Vengrin checked from the blinds. Benjamin Hamnett bet 1,800 from the button with Kupin calling from the small blind, and Vengrin calling from the big blind.

Three checks followed the J turn to see the 2 appear on the river. Kupin checked, and Vengrin bet 8,000. Hamnett and Kupin folded, allowing Vengrin to win the pot.

Garik Tamasian: AAJ7 All in
Robert Cowen: KQJ4

Tamasian couldn't overtake Cowen's two pair on the 84 runout, as he exited the tournament area.

Tarango Sends Dimaiuta to the Rail

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Billy Tarango
Billy Tarango

With 18,600 in the pot three players saw the dealer produce a flop of J45. Billy Tarango checked from the small blind, and Tarun Golati checked from under the gun. Michael Dimaiuta bet the pot from the cutoff, and only Tarango called.

Tarango immediately jammed for 40,000 when he saw the A hit the turn. Dimaiuta called with slightly fewer chips and the cards were revealed.

Michael Dimaiuta: A986 All in
Billy Tarango: A542

Tarango was in the lead with two pair, and the 5 river improved him to a full house. The pot was pushed to Tarango and Dimaiuta was out.

Ladines Cracks Aces... With Aces

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Eran Carmi got it all in, and shortstacked preflop, attempting to crack the aces of opponent Joshua Ladines whilst holding them himself.

Eran Carmi: AAJ5 All in
Joshua Ladines: AA87

The 95J flop seemed sent by the poker Gods for a max sweat, as Carmi's aces now didn't even play considering his two pair. Ladines picked up a diamond draw, as well as a gutshot, which he hit on the 10 turn leaving Carmi with just four outs. The 9 river sealed his fate, as he hit the rail.

Yang Doubles Up

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Kai Yang
Kai Yang

With 23,500 in the pot, four players saw the flop of Q65. Cary Katz and Bin Duan checked before Kai Yang bet the pot from the hijack. Paul Gunness called, which prompted Katz and Duan to get out of the way.

Yang thought Gunness had raised, so Yang ended up putting in his 34,700 total, and Gunness called.

Kai Yang: KQQ3 All in
Paul Gunness: AKK3

Yang was ahead with top set, but the 7 turn gave Gunness a flush draw. The 6 river may have completed Gunness' flush, but Yang improved to a boat to win the pot and double-up.
