Spirins Has to Wait For Next Year; Elayday Has the "Lucky Juice"

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Loai Elayday
Loai Elayday

Pavels Spirins moved all in for 18,000 from under the gun and Michael Wolf called in middle position.

Pavels Spirins: 88 All in
Michael Wolf: QQ

Spirins was dominated by Wolf's queens, and the K910310 board offered no help as he was sent to the rail. "Good luck, guys. Next year," Spirins told his tablemates after the hand.

At the same time at another table, a big pot was brewing between Rusty Farrin and Loai Elayday. Farrin had bet 20,000 from the big blind on a board of 44957, and Elayday moved all in on the button.

Farrin went deep into the tank, taking more than five minutes before calling for his last 80,000.

Rusty Farrin: QQAll in
Loai Elayday: 74

Farrin had a pocket pair, but Elayday had flopped trips and filled up on the river to win the pot as Farrin made a quick exit.

"Give me some of that lucky juice," a player from another table told Elayday as he came over to give Elayday a high-five.

Jones Boats Up to Take Out Dean

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action picked up four-ways to a Q87 flop as it checked to Paul Dean in the hijack who bet. Joshua Jones check-raised from the small blind while Tony Dunst from the big blind and Marko Doljevic under the gun got out of the way. Dean called to create a pot of just over 25,000.

On the 7 turn, Jones bet 12,000 and Dean quickly called once again.

The river brought the 5 as Jones bet enough to cover Dean's stack, and he quickly called off his final 11,300. Jones tabled 87 for a full house, and Dean sent his cards straight into the muck as he left the tournament area.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Erik Rozhynskyi
Erik Rozhynskyi

Rajeev Atriwal limped from under the gun, and Mateusz Moolhuizen raised from the button to 4,000. Erik Rozhynskyi three-bet from the small blind to 11,500, Atriwal called, and Moolhuizen folded.

The flop was 4Q10, and Rozhynskyi led for 8,500, receiving a call from Atriwal.

On the turn Q, Rozhynskyi bet 17,500, and Atriwal raised all in for 70,000 effective. Rozhynskyi thought for a moment and called.

Erik Rozhynskyi: AQ All in
Rajeev Atriwal: 98

Atriwal was on a bluff, and, unlucky for him, Rozhynskyi held a queen for trips.

The river K didn't bring in the straight for Atriwal, and Rozhynskyi won the pot, and Atriwal was left with crumbs.

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Action folded around to the blinds, where Sonny Franco called from the small blind and Phil Hellmuth checked his option in the big blind.

Both players checked on the 2J5 flop and then Franco check-called a 1,400 bet from Hellmuth on the Q turn.

The K filled out the board and Franco bet 3,000. Hellmuth immediately announced, "call," and Franco turned over Q8 for a pair of queens.

Carlos Pou

Carlos Pou was in the small blind and already in a pot with Radd Blackburn who was in early position. The pair were already on the J109 flop with a pot of 24,000.

Pou moved all in for his last 65,100 and was called by Blackburn, and the players had just tabled their cards.

Carlos Pou: QQAll in
Radd Blackburn: JJ

Pou was behind with pocket queens as Blackburn had flopped a set of jacks. Pou had some outs with the open-ended straight draw, and he stood at the table to watch his fate run out.

He didn't have to wait long as the 8 came on the turn, and he kept the lead (and his seat in the tournament), as the 7 fell on the river.

Running Quads for Escalera

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Christopher Vitch opened to 2,400 from the hijack, but Mario Escalera countered with a three-bet to 8,400 from the cutoff. Vitch went all-in before Escalera called to put himself at risk for 29,400 as they went to a showdown.

Mario Escalera: 99All in
Christopher Vitch: AQ

The flop was all Vitch when the dealer fanned out AKA to give Vitch trip aces.

Escalera's chances looked grim, but the turn was just the miracle he needed when it came the 9 to give him a full house and take the lead.

Vitch still had outs to overcome Escalera, but the river was the unfathomable 9 to give Escalera a running four of a kind to secure the double up in a sensational fashion.
