2026 World Series of Poker
Roman Hrabec opened A♠2♠ under the gun. He received no opposition, until Micah Raskin moved all in for 2,060,000 on the button holding 7♣7♠. Cliff Josephy took his sweet time in the small blind having peeled Q♠Q♦, and eventually announced that he too was all in. Hrabec snap-folded.
Raskin was already up and out of his chair on the 10♣2♣K♠ flop, with the 10♠ turn offering him no solace. The 5♦ river sealed the deal, as he headed to the rail.
Raskin check-called a bet of 150,000 from the big blind on a board reading 3♣4♦A♠. Holding 3♠3♥ he was in dreamland, until the 5♥ turn hit his opponent, cutoff player Roman Hrabec, holding J♥2♥
Raskin then led out for 700,000 with his set, and Hrabec simply smooth called with his straight. The 9♦ rolled in on the river, and Raskin barrelled again for half of his stack, putting out 2,000,000. Hrabec opted against raising, simply flatting, and showing his opponent the bad news.
Cliff Josephy opened A♠K♦ from the hijack to 24,000. Roman Hrabec flatted Q♣J♦ on the button, and Alexis Cruz Martinez defended his big blind holding 7♦5♦.
Cruz Martinez went from third to first, flopping top pair on 7♣2♥2♣ and began with a check. Josephy tapped the table, and Hrabec took the initiative with a bet of 250,000. Cruz Martinez check-raised to 650,000, Josephy folded, and Hrabec stuck around with just queen-high.
Cruz Martinez slowed down on the 9♥ turn, and Hrabec slid 600,000 into the middle. After some thought, Cruz Martinez folded the best hand.
Zdenek Zizka opened from the hijack with a raise to 240,000. Rick Mechammil moved all in on the button, and Zizka reluctantly put in the call.
Zdenek Zizka: A♥J♠
Rick Mechammil: 8♠8♦
It was a flip, with the 3♣10♦Q♥ flop offering some extra outs to the Czech national. He gained an extra three as the Q♦ peeled off on the turn, but the river 6♣ sealed his fate, as Mechammil raked in his chips.
Joey Weissman and Naseem Salem found themselves in a blind-on-blind situation, as action folded around to the former. He limped in, but Salem punished, with a sizeable raise to 395,000.
Weissman's K♦4♦ checked a pair on the 4♥5♦Q♥ flop, and Salem fired out 300,000 holding A♣2♠ for a gutshot. The Q♣ turn brought a check from both players, with Weissman boating up on the Q♠ river. He went for value, opting for 300,000, only to see a raise to 1,405,000 from Salem.
After about two minutes of his head in his hands, Weissman reluctantly folded the winning hand.
Roman Hrabec found yet another suited King of spades, and opened K♠6♠ to 240,000 from the hijack. Micah Raskin then decided to see three, as he called with A♦6♣ from the small blind.
Both players flopped top pair on a 4♠3♦6♦ flop, and Hrabec continued for 200,000 when checked to. Raskin opted to check-raise, picking 700,000 as his sizing, and Hrabec made the call. The A♣ turn improved Raskin to two pair, and he didn't slow down, pushing 900,000 forward. Hrabec sniffed it out, and made the fold.
Bobby James opened the action to 240,000 from the cutoff with A♠Q♥. John Racener defended his big blind with K♣8♥ and flopped trips on 8♠6♥8♣. He then bet 275,000 on the 7♠ turn after the flop checked through, and James came along for a call.
Racener's bet of 725,000 on the river had James in the blender, and after a lengthy think, he decided to stick in the call with just ace-high. Racener tabled his trips and took in the pot.
Action was picked up on a flop of 7♦Q♥K♣ with the two remaining Czech nationals, Zdenek Zizka and Roman Hrabec, having seen three from the hijack and small blind, respectively.
Hrabec check-raised Zizka's 285,000 bet to 850,000, but it didn't scare his compatriot away. The 8♣ turn brought a 750,000 down-bet from Hrabec, which brought about a small tank from Zizka. He jammed, and Hrabec snapped.
Roman Hrabec: K♥Q♦
Zdenek Zizka: 8♠7♥
It was two pair over two pair, and Hrabec faded Zizka's boat outs on the 10♥ river.
John Racener picked up Q♠Q♦ from the cutoff and opened to 240,000. Naseem Salem called 9♦8♦ from the small blind and Max Neugebauer did the same from the big blind with Q♥9♣.
The 8♣K♠8♠ flop brought checks all round, with Salem flopping middle pair, and Racener checking back with an overpair to his ladies on board. Salem then led the 2♠ turn for 350,000, and checked the 7♦ river when Racener looked him up. Racener checked back, and took down a nice pot.
