Cliff Josephy raised A♦8♦ to 200,000 from under the gun. He folded out Rick Mechammil's 16 big blind stack, despite Mechammil holding the superior A♣J♦. Action folded to the blinds; Micah Raskin made the call holding 9♥9♣ and Zdenek Zizka did the same holding 10♠9♦ from the small and big blind, respectively.
Both blinds checked the 7♣2♥Q♠ flop, and Josephy opted for a bet of 230,000. Only Raskin called, and the K♣ turn checked through. Raskin chose a small sizing of 200,000 on the 4♠ river, and Josephy folded.
Bobby James opened the action from early position to 200,000. John Racener liked his cards enough to wager all of his chips from the button, which amounted to a bet of 1,095,000. James made the call, but was visibly not thrilled about it.
John Racener: A♣10♠
Bobby James: 8♠8♣
James held the lead on the J♦J♥7♥ flop, but lost it right after as the A♦ turn put Racener far in front. No snowman as the K♣ river sealed Racener's double and survival.
Naseem Salem looked down at what he considered a raisable hand under the gun, and opened to 200,000. Short stack Mike Meskin sat on his direct left, and raised all in for 750,000. Artem Riabov then flatted the shove on the button, and Salem began to size up his opponent's stack. He tanked for a little while, pondered his options, and placed in a four-bet, totalling 2,050,000. Riabov jammed and Salem snapped, which made a lot of sense to the table once cards were on their backs.
Mike Meskin: A♠Q♠
Artem Riabov: K♦K♣
Naseem Salem: A♣A♥
It was the classic cooler, with Meskin in the middle of it. Not getting too greedy, he let the table know that he would "take the flush". Once again not getting what he asked for, the 10♣9♣5♦ sight was not pretty for either covered player. The 4♠ turn sealed Meskin's fate, with the 2♦ river sealing Riabov's, handing the chip lead over to Salem.
Zdenek Zizka opened to 200,000 from the hijack with 8♦6♦. He received two callers; Cliff Josephy holding A♣Q♥ from the cutoff and Chris Brewer with K♥4♥ in the big blind.
Zizka then bet out for 130,000 when checked to on a 10♣J♠K♣ flop, which received calls from both opponents. When Brewer checked for a second time on the 3♦ turn, Zizka slowed down and did the same. Josephy then bet 750,000 with the flopped nuts, which drew a fold from both opponents.
Roman Hrabec opened K♠5♠ under the gun to 200,000. Max Neugebauer's suited Broadway with A♥10♥ qualified for a call from the cutoff, and the two went heads up to a flop.
Both players caught a massive piece on A♠10♦3♠, with Hrabec checking his nut flush draw over to Neugebauer. He led out for 225,000 with top two, allowing Hrabec to throw out a big check-raise to 800,000. Neugebauer smooth-called, bringing in the 5♥ turn. Hrabec, now with even more of the board, announced "All in," and Neugebauer snapped it off to put himself at risk.
There was a big river sweat, but the 6♥ resulted in a huge sigh of relief from Neugebauer, who soared way above the average stack.
Alexander James opened the action with a raise to 200,000 under the gun, holding K♣J♥. Artem Riabov chose to flat from middle position, allowing Weissman to chase more dead money with a three-bet to 1,250,000 from the cutoff. He left a single big blind behind.
James got out of the way, but Riabov moved all in, which the American certainly wasn't going to fold to.
Joey Weissman: J♠J♣
Artem Riabov: A♣10♣
Riabov's pair was no good on 4♥K♥10♠8♠8♣ as Weissman lived to fight another day in the $10k.
Bobby James opened 10♠10♥ to 200,000 under the gun, before seeing Alexander James put in a three-bet to 650,000 on his direct left. Big blind Mike Meskin thought for a while, before deciding against committing his final eight bigs with K♣Q♥, but the Englishman was going nowhere as he put in the call.
The three bettor continued when checked to on a 7♣2♣K♠ flop, opting for a bet of 750,000. His namesake folded the better hand.
Max Neugebauer opened the action from middle position with K♠7♠ for a suited king. Zdenek Zizka played sneaky with the rockets, just flatting A♦A♣. Button player Rick Mechammil liked the price, and decided to see a flop with 7♥7♣
The 5♣K♥2♦ flop checked to Mechammil, who bet out for 275,000 with the worst hand. Neugebauer smooth called, allowing Zizka to check-raise to 730,000, with his hand still very disguised. Mechammil folded, and Neugebauer called.
The Q♦ turn then checked through, and Zizka opted against a river value bet with his overpair, deciding to check and table the winner.
Zdenek Zizka opened to 200,000 from the button holding red tens. Rick Mechammil opted to defend his big blind with 10♠3♠.
The 7♣9♦4♥ flop checked through, bringing in the Q♠ turn. Mechammil checked again, and Zizka opted for a delayed continuation-bet of 120,000. Mechammil then fired out a check-raise to 325,000 with complete air, and he won the hand drawing dead as his opponent mucked his cards.
