2026 World Series of Poker
Chip Counts
Ricardo Alvarado raised to 3,000 in the cutoff, which both Arthur Morris and Ze Yu Li called from the button and big blind.
The action checked to Morris on the 8♥Q♠J♥ flop, who bet 3,200. Li then check-raised to 10,000, which saw both Alvarado and Morris fold.
An angry poker player got into a verbal dispute with another player at the table at the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) after having his cards mucked in the big blind.
The verbal altercation between Georgia's James Heath and Maine's Darrell Blodgett took place on Sunday during Day 1 of Event #43: $800 8-Handed Deepstack No-Limit, which drew 3,903 runners for a prize pool of $2,732,100. And there was no love lost between two of those players.
With 4,400 in the middle, Gruffudd Pugh-Jones checked from the big blind on a 5♦10♣K♣ flop. Ka Kwan Lau bet 3,000 on the button, and Pugh-Jones called.
The 8♦ turn saw Pugh-Jones check for a second time, but this time he folded when Lau barrelled for 10,200.
Cards are in the air with six players sitting and ready to go.

One of the more star-studded events returns to the 2026 World Series of Poker, when Event #47: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller begins at 12 p.m. local time today. This eight-handed event features two Day 1 flights before the fields merge on Day 2, then play out over three days of action at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas.
Omaha events have seen impressive numbers during the 2026 WSOP, and there is no reason to believe this event will be any different. Almost 500 players turned out in force in 2025 despite the $25,000 buy-in. You should expect a similar crowd this year.

Past Champions & Notable Winners
In 2025, it was German PLO specialist Dennis Weiss who locked his second WSOP bracelet, beating former WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Michael Duekfor a career-best score of $2,292,155.
Weiss outlasted 489 entrants, denying eleven-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey another piece of hardware.
The reigning champion has already cashed seven times this summer, three of which were final-table appearances, and one was a bracelet-winning victory. Weiss is in hot form. Can he turn that into another piece of WSOP gold?
