Chance Kornuth raised to 4,200 from under the gun, which Yang Wang called in the hijack, tempting Alex Foxen along in the big blind too.
After Foxen checked on the 10♥4♣9♦ flop, Kornuth continued for 9,000, which both Wang and Foxen called before the action checked through on the 9♣ turn.
Foxen saw the turn passivity as a green light to take over the betting lead, putting 32,000 into the middle. Kornuth responded with a raise to 85,000, which saw Wang fold, and Foxen quickly did the same.
Chuan Hao Zhang opened from early position, and Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet to 12,000 from the cutoff. Zhang called, and the players saw the 3♥6♦3♠ flop.
Zhang check-called a 9,000 bet by Jouhkimainen, and the pair were taken to the 2♥ turn.
Both made quick checks to the K♦ river, and Zhang check-raised to 95,000 after Jouhkimainen bet 25,000. Jouhkimainen reraised to 200,000, and Zhang mucked, leaving himself with just 26,000 behind.
Eelis Parssinen raised to 4,200 on the button, and Firas Kashat called in the big blind.
Kashat checked on the 6♥10♠8♣ flop, but when Parssinen continued with a bet of 3,000, Kashat check-raised to 11,000, which Parssinen called.
The 2♠ turn saw both players check, and when the A♣ completed the board, Kashat mucked his cards, truly giving up on the hand.
Joao Simao raised to 4,200 from under the gun, which Dash Dudley and Youness Barakat called from the cutoff and button.
When Simao checked on the connected 10♠9♠J♣ flop, Dudley bet 9,000, which Barakat called before Simao folded.
The A♠ turn saw Dudley slow down, checking over to Barakat. Barakat bet 11,200, which was enough to claim the pot, as Dudley folded.
Players were already heads-up and on the turn, looking at a 9♠5♣A♦3♠ board. The pot stood at 60,000, and Joao Simao was already all in for his remaining ~55,000 on the button. He was called and covered by Chance Kornuth in the big blind.
Joao Simao: A♥J♠8♠5♠
Chance Kornuth: K♦9♦6♠4♥
Simao was looking at two pair, with aces and fives, and a spade flush draw. Kornuth was behind but had a pair of nines and an open-ended straight draw.
The 2♣ river saw Kornuth steal the pot, having gotten there with the deuce completing his straight, and Simao remarked, "Unbelievable, yet predictable." He continued, saying, "Are you recording this?...make sure to tag 'fish'" and pointed at Kornuth in jest.
