Frank KO's Barakat & Simao

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Christopher Frank
Christopher Frank

Christopher Frank opened to 5,500 from middle position and Dash Dudley called from the hijack. Youness Barakat also called from the cutoff and Joao Simao three-bet to 18,500. Frank four-bet to 67,500 and Dudley mucked. Barakat moved all in for his remaining 31,800 and Simao called the 67,500 bet by Frank.

After the players were taken to the QJ2 flop, Simao moved all in for his remaining ~70,000 and Frank snap called and covered him.

Youness Barakat: A1096All in
Joao Simao: KK59All in
Christopher Frank: AA105

Frank was sitting with aces, which had Simao's kings dominated. Barakat was looking at an open-ended straight draw but Simao also had some hope of scooping the pot if another club was dealt.

Everyone missed on the 9 turn and 7 river and Frank knocked out two in one swift pot.

Foxen Applies Pressure

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Billy Tarango raised to 3,000 under the gun, and Alex Foxen three-bet to 10,500 on the button. The action returned to Tarango, who called.

Tarango led out for 4,000 on the J78 flop, Foxen raised to 21,000, and Tarango called.

The 5 turn saw Tarango check-call a bet of 52,000, and the K completed the board.

Tarango checked for a third time, and this time faced a substantial bet of 155,000. After taking some time, using one time extension, he opted to fold.

Dudley Removes Martirosian

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

With a board dealt to a 5683 turn, Artur Martirosian worked his stack of roughly 90,000 into the pot from middle position, and was at risk versus Dash Dudley in the big blind.

Artur Martirosian: Q1088 All in
Dash Dudley: K997

Martirosian had flopped a set, but was behind to the flopped straight of Dudley. The 7 river did not pair the board, sending Martirosian to the rail.

Small Pots Passed

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action has slowed somewhat, with a number of small pots being passed and not much action getting to showdown.

In a recent hand, Jose Scarano opened to 5,500 from the cutoff, and Ka Kwan Lau called on the button. Brian Breck also defended his small blind, taking the players three-ways to the flop.

On the 2107 flop, action checked to Lau, who bet 10,000 and only Breck called. On the 8 turn, Breck checked, Lau bet 32,000, and Breck gave up his hand.

On another table, Jeremy Druckman opened to 4,5000 from the hijack, and Ze Yu Li called from the cutoff.

The pair saw a 42A flop and both checked to the 4 turn. Druckman bet out 6,000, which was enough to get Li off the pot, and he scooped it up.

Weis Pressures the Table

Level 6 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Mack Lee opened to 4,000 from under the gun, and Ricardo Alvarado called from early position. Anatoly Zlotnikov also called on the button, and Oliver Weis three-bet to 22,000. All players topped up to call, and Zlotnikov remarked: "If there's no ace on the flop, you can muck your hand, bro."

The four players saw the 4QK flop, and Weis bet out pot for 86,000. He saw a sea of folds and picked up the pot.

Weis said, "There was no ace on the flop."

Alvarado responded, "I needed a jack," and flashed his hand, which had JJ3x9x in it.

Weis confirmed, "Jack no good," as he slid his cards into the muck.
