Biao Ding had just taken a seat in the tournament after late registering after the dinner break. He was in the big blind and already in a hand with Artur Martirosian who was in middle position. The pair were looking at the 8♥A♣6♣ flop and had accumulated a pot of 17,000.
Martirosian had just called a shove by Ding who was all in for his remaining 141,000 and the players were just flipping over their hands.
Biao Ding: 8♣8♠6♥2♦
Artur Martirosian: A♦10♣9♣7♥
Ding had flopped a set of eights, but Martirosian was looking at top pair and hunting an open-ended straight and flush draw. Ding's lead didn't last long as the 9♠ turn brought in the straight for Martirosian.
It was the end of the road for Ding as the dealer placed the 2♥ river which didn't do anything to improve him.
Nino Pansier limped in under the gun, prompting Chenxiang Miao to follow suit one seat to his left. Bryce Yockey then raised to 11,000 in the hijack, which both limpers called.
Once play checked to him, Yockey bet 8,000 on a 6♠6♦6♣ flop. Pansier called, but Miao folded.
The 4♦ turn checked through, and Pansier then chose to lead out on the 8♥ river, betting 40,000. Yockey mulled it over, ultimately choosing to fold.
Shrinag Gaddipati raised to 7,000 on the button, and called when Artur Martirosian three-bet to 23,000 from the small blind.
The Q♠Q♦5♣ flop checked through, but Martirosian picked his betting lead back up on the A♠ turn, betting 12,500. Gaddipati called.
Martirosian then fired 75,000 into the pot on the K♦ river, and once again, Gaddipati called.
Martirosian tabled K♠J♥9♠8♥, for a pair of kings, but Gaddipati scooped the pot after flipping over A♣K♥4♠3♣.
Juha Helppi opened to 7,000 from the cutoff and Cary Katz defended the big blind.
The J♥5♠10♦ flop saw both check to the 8♦ turn. Katz checked and Helppi bet 9,000. Katz made another call to take the pair to the 8♠ river.
Katz bet out 25,000 and Helppi quickly called. Katz tabled his 10♥9♠6♠4♠ for two pair but Helppi took the pot after turning over A♦9♥7♥7♦ for the straight.
Anatoly Zlotnikov raised to 7,000 on the button, and Artur Martirosian called in the big blind.
The action checked through on the J♠5♥8♣ flop, and the A♠ turn saw Martirosian check-call a 17,000 bet by Zlotnikov.
The 8♠ river completed the board, and both players returned to checking.
Martirosian announced he had a jack, but Zlotnikov tabled A♦9♦. Martirosian then mucked his hand, so Zlotnikov returned his other two cards to the dealer face down.
As the hand finished, Erik Seidel joined the table.
"Thank you for everything you've done for poker", Zlotnikov said to the Hall of Fame inductee.
"How many bracelets do you have?" he continued.
"Ten", Seidel replied, after being asked for a second time.
"I lost heads up for one, the other day", Zlotnikov shared before asking Seidel, "Can you teach me?"
Krasimir Yankov opened to 7,000 from under the gun and Artur Martirosian three-bet to 24,000 on the button. Yankov called and the players saw the 3♦10♦4♥ flop.
Yankov checked, Martirosian bet 21,000 and Yankov picked up a stack to raise. Martirosian snap shoved for around 220,000 covering Yankov's ~165,000, remaining chips and it didn't take long before Yankov put himself at risk and turned over his hand.
Krasimir Yankov: J♦10♣5♦4♣
Artur Martirosian: K♠K♦Q♠Q♦
Yankov had flopped top two pair, and the flush draw, and was ahead of Martirosian. Yankov held on the 2♠ turn but as the board paired on the 3♥ river, Martirosian's pocket kings gave him the pot, busting Yankov shortly after returning from the dinner break.
