Players were already heads up and on the 1058 flop with a pot of around 80,000. Phillipp Mellon was in middle position and against Sergio Martinez Gonzalez in the hijack.

Gonzalez had just re-raised to cover Mellon's stack and action was on Mellon to make the call for his tournament life. He picked up his remaining chips and committed them to the pot, having his entire 620,000 stack at risk.

Mellon had flopped two pair, but Gonzalez had the rest of the tens and was looking at the set.

There was no help for Mellon on the 4 turn and the 2 river saw to his elimination.

Mellon had made a good run to get his seat in today's tournament as he satellited in all the way from a $120 PLO Turbo tournament, but his time came to an end mid-way through Day 1.

Guerra checked the J turn. Rafael kept up the pressure with a wager of 80,000. Guerra folded as Rafael took in the chips.

Koon Chips Up Without Showdown

Jason Koon raised from under the gun for Eelis Parssinen to defend the big blind and the latter checked the 1053 flop. Koon continued for 30,000 and Parssinen called, then checked the 4 turn with Koon checking it back.

Parssinen also checked the 9 on the river and Koon then made it 90,000 to go. The shot clock ran down to almost zero when Parssinen opted to fold.

Jason Koon opened the action with a raise to 18,000 from the hijack and was called by Ian Matakis in the next seat as well as Sergio Martinez Gonzalez in the big blind. On the A72 flop, Martinez Gonzalez checked and Koon continued for 25,000 to pick up two calls.

That led them to the 10 turn on which only Martinez Gonzalez check-called Koon's pot-sized bet of 137,000. Both active players checked the 7 on the river and the AJ53 of Martinez Gonzalez won the pot.

Alex Foxen opened to 18,000 from the cutoff before Artur Martirosian three-bet to 62,000 on the button.

Foxen stuck around with a call and sent them to a flop of QQ8 before he checked. Martirosian continued for 45,000, but Foxen responded with a check-raise to 117,000. Martirosian called.

The 2 turn led to a bet of 12,000 from Foxen. Martirosian gave it a brief consideration before he folded to award the pot to Foxen.
