Vogelsang Puts Chen to the Test

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A massive pot was brewing at Table 1 between Christoph Vogelsang and James Chen. With around 750,000 already in the middle, the board read {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}. Vogelsang checked from middle position and Chen spread in a bet of 315,000.

Vogelsang check-raised all in for over 1,000,000, enough to put Chen to the test for his remaining chips. Chen went into the tank for over two minutes and Martin Kabrhel called the clock. Chen's time was nearly up when he finally threw his cards to the muck.

Stefan Schillhabel also just took a seat to the right of Vogelsang bringing the total entries to 69 now.

Sontheimer Pull Off a Check-Raise

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Three players stuck in 55,000 each preflop and the dealer fanned a flop of {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Steffen Sontheimer checked from the hijack and Stanley Choi also checked from the cutoff. James Romero tossed in a bet of 70,000 on the button and Sontheimer check-raised to 200,000.

Choi quickly got out of the way while it took a little longer for Romero to make a decision. He also decided to believe Sontheimer and sent his cards to the muck.

Schemion Eliminates Bejjani

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Jun Wah Yap raised to 20,000 from early position to open the betting action. Ole Schemion called from the button and big blind Kamal Bejjani called as well.

They went three-way to the {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop and Bejjani checked to the initial raiser. Yap continued with a bet of 30,000 and Schemion called. Bejjani went for the check-raise as he counted out 125,000 and slid the chips over the betting line. Yap got out of the way, but Schemion stuck around.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Bejjani checked again. Schemion bet himself this time as he threw 120,000 in the middle. Bejjani called and the {A-Spades} river completed the board.

Bejjani moved all in for 497,000 and Schemion went into the tank. After a couple of minutes, he called and Bejjani showed {K-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a bluff. Schemion showed {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for the winning hand and he eliminated Bejjani.

Berman Loses and Wins

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The board read {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} with around 360,000 in the middle already. Asaf Berman had checked his big blind and Niall Farrell was considering his options from the hijack. After about twenty seconds, Farrell bet 150,000 and Berman snap-called.

Farrell tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for the turned top pair with the ace-kicker. Berman turned around the {k-Diamonds} first and then slowly showed the {10-Clubs} for the lower kicker.

The hand right after, Anthony Zinno raised to 20,000 from the button and was called by Berman in the small blind and Koray Aldemir in the big blind.

They all checked through the {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} on the flop and the {a-Spades} on the turn to the {2-Hearts} on the river. Berman checked, Aldemir bet 36,000 and Zinno folded. Berman called, Aldemir tabled {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for the bluff and Berman took the pot with {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for the turned two pair.

Rags Turn to Riches for Sekularac

Level 6 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Ognjen Sekularac opened from under the gun and then called a three-bet from Pavel Binar in middle position. With around 100,000 in the middle, the two players saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}. Sekularac check-called a bet of 60,000 from Binar and the {4-Clubs} paired the board on the turn.

Sekularac checked again and Binar quickly checked back. The {9-Diamonds} landed on the river and Sekularac led out for 136,000 this time. Binar tossed in a single chip to call and Sekularac showed {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for trip fours to scoop the pot.
