Halverson Spikes Lucky Lady to Send Loeser Packing

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

Action on the table folded around to Ryan Riess who raised to 2,200 on the button and was called by Mitchell Halverson from the small blind before Manig Loeser three-bet all in for 15,600 from the big blind.

Riess got out of the way while Halverson called and the two players tabled their hands.

Manig Loeser: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Mitchell Halverson: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Neither player held a made hand but Loeser was ahead and nothing changed after the {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop. The {7-Diamonds} turn was safe for Loeser as he just needed to fade the river but it came the {q-Clubs} and ended his tournament.

Eveslage Wins With Aggression

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player under the gun opened with a raise and was called by Ali Imsirovic from the small blind, along with Chad Eveslage from the big blind.

The {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop was checked around to the {6-Spades} turn where Eveslage fired out 2,500 and was called by both opponents.

Once the {a-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, action was checked to Eveslage who took down the pot with a 5,000 bet.

Poker Author Written Off By Reixach

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Maria Konnikova, author of The Biggest Bluff (check out our review here), raised to 2,000 from late position only to have Sergi Reixach three-bet to 8,000 from the small blind.

Konnikova called and the flop came down {2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Reixach led out for 6,000 and then called when Konnikova raised to 18,000, which left her 25,000 behind.

After the dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}, Reixach checked and then snap-called when Konnikova moved all in.

Sergi Reixach: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Maria Konnikova: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Reixach had turned two pair to take the lead and it held when the {q-Hearts} bricked on the river.

Udornpim Puts Bicknell to the Test, Then Gets Paid to Show

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Nitis Udornpim
Nitis Udornpim

Nitis Udornpim opened for 2,000 from under the gun and was called by Kristen Bicknell from middle position, along with Shaun Deeb from the cutoff.

Once the {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop hit the felt, Udornpim continued for 4,000 and only Bicknell called to see the {5-Spades} turn. Udornpim led out for 14,000 and was quickly called by Bicknell, bringing the {k-Clubs} river.

Udornpim jammed putting Bicknell at risk and sending her deep into the tank. After some time passed, Bicknell mucked her hand and asked Udornpim to show.

"I'll show for $100," Udornpim replied. Bicknell coughed up the dough and Udornpim rolled over {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.
