The $400 No-Limit Hold'em two-day event at the Wynn Million series nearly doubled the $100,000 guarantee with $189,144 in the pot. Nobody collected a larger share of that prize pool than Justin Lapka, who took it down for $32,089 on Thursday.

Lapka, a two-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner with nearly $1.3 million in live tournament cashes, defeated Adam Churnick heads-up at the final table to complete the victory. Churnick didn't go home empty-handed, however. He received $23,651 as a consolation prize for his part in a three--way chop that also included Dijamant Gashi, who earned $21,092 for third place.

The Wynn Millions series at Wynn Las Vegas will continue on Friday with Day 1b of the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em ($500,000 guaranteed) at noon.

Day 1a of the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em, a $500,000 guaranteed tournament, saw 120 players register, and none came even close to finishing the session with as many chips as Jessica Vierling.

The German crusher who lives in Las Vegas ended the first session in the Wynn Millions tournament with 1,025,000 chips, over 125 big blinds. Vierling has over $1.7 million in live tournament cashes, and she'll be looking to add to that figure.

Vierling wasn't the only high-profile player to bag a big stack. Mitchell Halverson (522,000), Nick Palma (368,000), and David Moses (343,000) also finished the session among the top 10 chip stacks.

The NLH event, which offers three Day 1 starting flights, already has $115,800 in the pot following Thursday's session. There were 15 players who bagged chips, and Day 1b will start at noon on Friday.

What's On at Wynn Millions on Thursday, March 12?

Wynn Millions
Wynn Millions

Thursday brings a busy day at the Wynn Millions, with three tournaments on the schedule inside Wynn, Las Vegas.

First up at 12 p.m. is Day 2 of the $400 No-Limit Hold’em $100K GTD, where the remaining 70 players return to play down to a champion after two starting flights produced 568 entries.

Also kicking off at 12 p.m. is Day 1A of the $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em $500,000 GTD. The tournament features three starting flights, with Day 1B running Friday and Day 1C on Saturday, before the remaining players return to play down to a winner on Sunday.

Closing out the evening schedule is a $200 Milestone Satellite at 6 p.m., guaranteeing at least five seats into the $1,100 NLH. The satellite replaces the usual nightly turbo — a tough break for Christopher Hull — who had just rattled off three straight turbo wins.

Both starting flights of the $400 No-Limit Hold’em $100,000 GTD are now complete at the Wynn Millions, setting the stage for the final day.

Across Day 1a and Day 1b, the tournament drew 568 total entries, building the prize pool to $189,144. Forty-six players made it over the Day 1b hurdle to bring the Day 2 field to 70 players, all of whom will return on Thursday, March 12 at 12 p.m. to play down to a winner.

Day 1b proved to be the bigger of the two flights, attracting 374 entries, and it was Didier Georgieff who finished the night on top with 1,290,000, the largest stack across both starting flights. Yuanzhi Cao (991,000) and Fisher Friend (901,000) also closed out the evening with big stacks after navigating the large Day 1b field.
