I dont get how winning 2 holdem tourneys is harder than winning 2 stud events. There is sooooo much more luck involved in holdem, especially NL. No winner of a Holdem tourney ever did it without getting really lucky at some point. Barker is a great holdem player but POY s/b Ivey, Wahlbeck or Lisandr

Yeah, it is odd. As I understand it they award the FT points based on chip counts.
It doesnt make much sense to include the main event in the POY race and yet still have it end in november.
I meant 'winner' as in highest chip count of final 9.
As I understand it, the ME winner will only get 100 points also. But it isn't broken, they want the POY to be an all round player.
they might have to fix playe rof the year system. Brock parker won 2 holdem events with 500+ player fields which is deifinetly harder than winning 2 stud bracets.

not that 3 tournaments is much of a sample size, and lisandro is a beast for sure. probably a break even bet with 2 to 1 juice

last few yrs ivey wasn't on top of his game and winning side bets to motivate him to waste his time in tournaments. and his horse record is massive. i'll check lisandro's record never saw him deep though. pretty sure ivey's ME record is better overall if not previous few yrs
