    Mercier Gaining Ground

    Dario Alioto opened for 36,000 from the cutoff and Jason Mercier made the call from the small blind.

    Both players checked the {K-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {2-Spades} flop. When the {6-Spades} hit the turn, Mercier led out for 51,000 and Alioto made the call. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Mercier fired out another 120,000, leaving himself with only 50,000 behind. Alioto folded and Mercier dragged the pot, taking his stack up to 356,000. Alioto was left with 225,000.

    An "The Boss" Tran - 8th Place
    An "The Boss" Tran - 8th Place

    An Tran Eliminated in 8th Place ($25,122)

    Jason Mercier limped in from UTG, Chris Biondino limped behind him, Steven Burkholder completed the small blind and An Tran checked his option in the big blind.

    The flop was {K-Hearts} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds}. Everyone checked to Mercier, who bet 36,000. Biondino foilded, Burkholder check-raised to 111,000 and Tran three-bet all in for an additional 298,000. Mercier folded and Burkholder called.

    Tran {J-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} {2-Clubs}
    Burkholder {A-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}

    It was the dreaded set-over-set, Burkholder's set of fives leading Tran's set of deuces. The turn was the {K-Spades}, the river was the {Q-Clubs} and Tran could not improve, hitting the rail in 8th place. He'll take home $25,122 for his finish.

    With that pot, Burkholder took the chip lead with 925,000.

    Biondino Losing Ground

    Chris Biondino just exited the final table area to take a bit of a tilt-walk after the last two hands sent his stack plummeting.

    In the first hand, he limped from UTG, Kevin Iacofano limped in behind him, and Dario Alioto made it 66,000 to go from the cutoff. Biondino called and Iacofano folded. The flop came down {Q-Spades} {4-Spades} {4-Hearts} and Biondino checked to Alioto, who moved all in for 92,000. Biondino folded.

    On the next deal, Kevin Iacofano opened with a pot-sized raise from early position and Biondino called from the small blind. He check-called Iacofano's bet on the {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {7-Spades} flop, then both players checked the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. The river was the {6-Spades} and Biondino check-called 100,0000 from Iacofano, who turned over {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} {4-Spades} {3-Spades} for a full house. Biondino mucked, his stack down to only 167,000.

Mercier gave it up as well and Burkholder picked up the pot, taking his stack up to 462,000. Mercier is down to 250,000.

    Vic Park - 9th Place
    Vic Park - 9th Place

    Vic Park Eliminated in 9th Place ($22,053)

    Vic Park raised to 42,000 from middle position and Matt Giannetti called from the small blind. Giannetti set Park all in for a bit less than 100,000 on the {J-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} flop and Park made the call.

    Park {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {2-?}
    Giannetti {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs}

    Giannetti's kings led, while Park was looking for a diamond to complete his nut flush draw or one of the two remaining queens in the deck to make a Broadway straight. However, he couldn't hit his outs on the {2-Hearts} or the {4-Clubs} river and hit the rail in 9th place for a $22,053 payday.

    After the hand, Giannetti was up to 415,000.
