Every Monday night, Hellmuth’s Home Game presented by Poker Night in America (PNIA) and sponsored by BetRivers is once again airing on CBS Sports on Monday nights.

The nationally-televised show, which was filmed at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and is unique in that there is no commentary. Instead, the show is carried by table talk from Phil Hellmuth alongside a cast of fellow pros and friends in an intimate, relaxed cash game setting.

PokerNews watched Episode 16 and compiled a recap of some of the biggest hands and interesting storylines.

Here’s how things stacked up at the start of the new episode:

SeatPlayerStack
1Pink$5,000
2Dan “Jungleman” Cates$30,000
3Kelly Lucas$5,000
4Phil Hellmuth$5,000
5Jennifer Tilly$5,000
6“Texas” Mike Moncek$5,000
7DJ Washburn$5,000

The game was played with $25/$50 blinds with a $50 big blind ante, and more often than not, a $100 straddle was on. Here’s a look at some of the biggest hands from the episode.

All In on the First Hand

In the first hand, a double straddle was on when Kelly Lucas looked down at the JJ in the cutoff and raised to $600. She picked up three callers, including Dan Cates, who had the 84 in the double straddle. The 3Q10 flop saw Pink and Cates check to Kelly, who continued for $1,200.

Jennifer Tilly folded, as did Pink, and Cates called with his flush draw. The A turn gave Cates a wheel draw, and he checked to Kelly, who bet $1,500. Cates then check-raised all in, and Kelly called off the $3,175 she had behind to create a $14,275 pot.

They agreed to run it twice, but neither the 8 on the first run nor 4 on the second helped Cates and Kelly doubled up.

Measly Pair

Action folded around to Pink, who had straddled for $100, and he raised to $600 with the 52. Cates, who had double-straddled to $200, called with the 97 and it was heads-up to a flop of 3610.

Pink bet $500, Cates called, and the 2 hit the turn. Pink checked bottom pair and then called when Cates, who had a gutshot straight draw, bet $1,100, which brought about the K on the river.

Pink checked for a second time, and Cates bluffed at it with a bet of $6,700.

“I wish I’d raised the turn,” said Pink. “Now I’m just stuck with a measly pair … yeah, you probably just have missed spades.”

Pink thought long and hard before making the call, which was good to win a pot worth $17,925.

“What a call,” Phil Hellmuth complimented Pink after the hand.

Hellmuth Slow-Rolled

Hellmuth looked down at the JJ in early position and just called $100. Texas Mike then raised to $500 with the A3 from the cutoff before Kelly flatted from the straddle with the KK. Hellmuth then check-raised all in for $4,975, and Texas Mike folded.

“What do you have, Phil? Do you want a call or do you want a fold?” Kelly asked before calling and slow-rolling Hellmuth.

“The last session she slow-rolled me, too,” Hellmuth said. The two ran it twice, but the Q793A flop missed Hellmuth, as did the 4Q896 on the second. With that, Kelly claimed the $10,575 pot while Hellmuth reloaded for $10,000.

Jungleman Puts Texas Mike to the Test

After DJ Washburn called with ace-three suited from early position, Cates raised to $400 with the 108 in the cutoff. Texas Mike then made it $1,175 after looking down at the KK in the straddle, and Washburn got out of the way.

Cates called, the flop fell 59K, and action went check-check. Texas Mike checked top set for a second time on the J turn and Cates, who turned an up-and-down straight draw, bet $1,300. Texas Mike then check-raised to $3,300, and Cates called to see the 8 river.

With four clubs on board, Texas Mike returned to checking, and Jungleman bluffed at it with a bet of $8,000. Texas Mike thought for a bit and then picked it off with a call, claiming the $25,175 pot in the process.

Hellmuth Shoves Last Hand

In the penultimate hand of the episode, Hellmuth was first to act in the cutoff and limped for $200 (the double straddle was on) with the 64, and four others came along to make it five-way action to a flop of 104K.

Everyone checked to Hellmuth, who continued for $700 with a flush draw. Texas Mike called from the small blind with the 103 for middle pair, Washburn came along from the big with the KJ for top pair, and Pink did as well from the first straddle with the 52 inferior flush draw. Cates was the only one to fold, ditching his measly 32.

When the 2 appeared on the turn, all three players checked to Hellmuth, who moved all in for $3,525. Texas Mike folded, Washburn called, and Pink let his hand go.

The two agreed to run it twice, and the 2 river on the first runout was good for Washburn. Likewise, the 10 on the second was also good, allowing Washburn to scoop the $11,100 pot and leaving Hellmuth to reload.

Here’s how things looked at the end of the episode.
