Dwan Eliminates Another

It was a battle of the blinds between Tom Dwan and the player in the big blind on a flop that read {4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}; Dwan led out for 1,850 and the big blind called before the dealer produced the {7-Hearts} on the turn.

Dwan checked and the big blind player fired out 6,000, leaving 300 in chips behind. Dwan casually raised to 6,300, forcing the big blind player all in.

Big blind: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Dwan: {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Though Dwan was head with the pair of sevens, he had to dodge a plethora of outs from the big blind. However the {8-Hearts} fell on the river and Dwan's hand was good enough to take it down.

The opponent was none too happy as he headed out the door, however it's another small victory to Dwan, who is now on 65,000 in chips.

Faure Fuming

Our PokerNews field reporter was stopped by Nicholas Faure who recalled his story as to how he got down to his current stack of 3,200 chips.

According to Faure, he got his money in good with pocket aces and was in great shape to bust out an opponent who had {a-?}{k-?}, but Faure lost the pot when the opponent made Broadway.

Khouiss Coolered

Sammy Khouiss is off on another one of his famous tirades after being crippled down to 5,800 in chips by Peter Parsons.

The player under the gun raised to 500 before Khouiss, another player in late position and Parsons called from the big blind to go four-handed into a flop of {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Parsons checked, the UTG led out for 1,500 and Khouiss called. The late position player also called but Parsons came out with a check-raise to 5,025.

The UTG player folded, Khouiss followed along and the late position folded before the dealer produced the turn of the {9-Hearts}.

Khouiss moved the rest of his stack into the middle; Parsons snap-called.

Parsons: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Khouiss: {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

"What a cooler that is!" Khouiss cried (with a few expletives thrown around). The dealer produced the river {10-Spades} to complete the board and give the pot to Parsons.

Parsons is now up to 41,300 in chips.

Durrrrka Durrrrka

Tom 'durrrr' Dwan is back up to 54,000 in chips after a recent battle with Aussie pro Leo Boxell.

We caught up to the hand on the flop, with the board showing {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Boxell check-called an 800 bet from Dwan, sending the action to the turn -- {8-Spades}.

On 4th Street, Boxell checked again, and Dwan fired again, this time making it 2,325 to play. Boxell called.

Another check, bet (6,250), call sequence on the river sent the hand to a showdown, where Dwan tabled the stone cold nuts -- {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. Boxell mucked, leaving himself with 11,000 in chips.

A Numbers Game?

Tom "Durrrr" Dwan is certainly making the most out of his time here in Melbourne. It seems like the young poker superstar is involved in just about every pot. Most of the time he is the aggressor, but sometimes he just limps and comes along for the ride (not on the G's bike though). Either way Dwan is definitely giving the rail, which is three people deep watching him and Phil Ivey play, plenty to get excited about.

During the last break, Lynn Gilmartin caught up with Dwan as he was ordering up some lunch.

McLean Finds Another Big Pair

Earl Roberts limped from under the gun before Luke McLean made it 950 to go. The table folded back to Roberts who made the call to see a flop of {9-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}.

Roberts checked over to McLean who bet 1,600. Roberts made the call, and both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn. The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Roberts fired 2,700 with McLean making the call.

Roberts tabled {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a pair but it wasn't quite as big as McLean's {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} as he extends himself to 55,000 chips.
