Carwash Still Alive

George Cotaidis raised it up from middle position and found two callers in Manny Stavropoulos and Joe Cabret.

The flop of {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} was checked around before Stavropoulos fired 2,000 on the {6-Diamonds} turn. Cabret folded as Cotaidis called for his last 1,275.

Stavropoulos: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Cotaidis: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The river bricked and "Carwash" doubles to around 7,000 as Stavropoulos slips to 17,000.

Modest Metcalfe

Metcalfe: eliminated Assadourian
Metcalfe: eliminated Assadourian
Our PokerNews team passed by to check up on Jesse Metcalfe and noticed that Eric Assadourian was no longer sitting next to him, so we had a quick chat to him between hands.

Reporter: "Can you tell us what happened to Eric?"

Metcalfe: "Who?"

Reporter: "The Aussie guy in the red shirt sitting next to you."

Metcalfe: "Oh, I busted him out."

Reporter: "Can you remember what happened?"

Metcalfe: "Yeah."

Reporter: "Can you share the details with us?"

Metcalfe: "No - it's embarrassing, I had a really bad hand! But Eric's so cool, he was giving me advice the whole way. Still, I don't have much left."

For the record, Metcalfe is on 7,300 in chips.

Ivey and Dwan Clash Again

Tom "durrrr" Dwan opened to 800 from under the gun with three players making the call to see a flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

The action checked to Dwan who fired 2,450. Phil Ivey was the lone caller in the cutoff as the two other players got out of the way to leave the two titans to duke it out.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and both players checked before the river fell another {6-Spades} to put a rather interesting board out there. Dwan was first to act and took a moment before splashing six yellow 5,000-denomination chips into the pot - enough to put Ivey to a decision for his tournament life.

Ivey removed his iPod and stared down Dwan as the rail watched on anxiously. Ivey eventually released and Dwan continues on his merry way, chipping up to 85,000 as Ivey slips to 25,000.

Greenstein Doubles Through Cabret

Greenstein's still in this!
Greenstein's still in this!
After Barry Greenstein and Joe Cabret checked a flop of {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}, Greenstein check-called all-in when Cabret led out for 11,000 on the turn of the {j-Hearts}.

Greenstein rolled up {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and found himself ahead of the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of Cabret. Greenstein improved to trips, and secured the pot, when a repeat {j-Clubs} fell on the river.

Greenstein is up to 12,000; Cabret shrinks to 28,000.

Man Down

Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Emanuel Seal, and Billy "the Croc" Argyros saw the flop on a limped pot.

Flop: {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Durrrr made a bet, causing the Croc to fold and Seal to move all-in. Durrrr snap called and turned over {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a set against Seal's pair with {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

The {8-Hearts} hit the turn and the {k-Spades} fell on the river filling a boat for Dwan, sending Seal to the rail and setting Dwan's chip count at about 75,000.

That's Sofo Unfair for Cohen

The money was all in the middle preflop between Julian Cohen who held {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} against Bjorn Sofo's {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, but Sofo managed to score big when the board was spread {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

Cohen was left mortally wounded on 8,000 while Sofo is on song with 42,500 in chips.

Small Pots Count Too

Julian Cohen, sitting two off the button made it 750 to go preflop and was called by the man with two names, Nasir Nasir who was in the big blind.

The two saw a {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop and Nasir checked his option to Cohen who bet 1,100 into the pot. Nasir decided to come along for a turn card and the two saw the {10-Spades} hit the felt, putting two spades on the board and opened up the possibility for a straight on the river.

Both players checked the turn, and the {3-Hearts} hit on the river. Nasir checked for a third straight time, and after taking a little betting breather on the turn, Cohen decided to throw out 3,000.

Nasir folded and is now down to about 50,000 while Julian Cohen is now up to 31,000.

Mizzi Rivers Monster!

Mizzi leads the field
Mizzi leads the field
We didn't catch the action but rushed to the table of Sorel Mizzi after the groans of the rail told us that the poker Gods had been busy.

The good news for Mizzi was the Gods had been kind.

According to the railbirds, the chips went in on a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} with Mizzi holding {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} but his opponent showing {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}. The two players each held massive stacks as the pot was worth over 80,000 chips.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} but the river brought the groans as the {J-Spades} fell to give Mizzi a bigger full house, jacks full of tens, as his opponent splashed his stack into the middle in disappointment and departed the tournament floor.

Sorel Mizzi is now our chip leader with over 90,000 chips.
