Willcocks Doubles Up

It was heads-up between Ross Boatman and Phillip Willcocks on a flop that read {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}; Boatman led out for 8,000 only to see Willcocks make it 15,000 to go.

Boatman shoved the rest of his stack over the top and Willcocks snap-called all-in.

Willcocks: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Boatman: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The turn and river ran out {q-Clubs},{8-Clubs} and Willcocks doubled up to 70,000 while Boatman drops to 20,000.

Toothpick's Double Double

Gus Hansen checked a flop of {j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}. In an answer to that, Antonis "Toothpick Tony" Kambouroglou put all of his chips, 16,650, in the middle. Hansen couldn't make the call fast enough, flipping over kings.

Kambouroglou showed {a-?}{10-?}. The {4-Spades} was no help for Kambouroglou, but he rivered broadway to double up.

Kambouroglou doubled up again against an unkown opponent as he rivered the nut flush with {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} on a {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board against his opponent's {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

Brammer (during Opening Event): scores chips off Shak
Chris Brammer managed to secure a huge double up through Dan Shak after managing to get his money in good with {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} against Shak, who had already mucked by the time the board was spread {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

Brammer is up to 75,000 while Brak slips to 68,000.

Mastorakos (during Event 2): eliminated
Jim Mastorakos moved the last of his money into the middle on a flop that read {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} holding {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, only to find himself in strife against the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Alexander Gribov.

Mastorakos found no love as the turn and river ran out {7-Clubs},{9-Diamonds}, sending him to the rail. Gribov is up to 32,000 in chips.

The Professor Learns a Lesson

On a flop of {7-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Spades}, it was checked to Howard Lederer in the cut off who made it 1,800. His opponent made it 4,000 and Lederer made the call.

The turn brought the {q-Diamonds} and the two checked.

His opponent made it 5,000 to go on the {j-Diamonds} river. Lederer moved all in and was called. He showed {A-Spades}{q-Spades} for the nut flush.

Lederer was later pulled aside by the dealer to inform him that the motion he made on his bet on the flop was a string bet in Australia. Howard's motion is common the States, where a player has the bet in hand but drops the chips in two flicks of the wrist. Dealers were told to be lenient on international players since the movement is so commonly used elsewhere.

Con Tsapkounis KO'ed

McLean: eliminates Tsapkounis
McLean: eliminates Tsapkounis
Con Tsapkounis got the last of his money into the middle preflop with {k-?}{j-?}, only to be called down by Luke McLean who tabled {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Tsapkounis caught a pair on the flop of {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and kept the lead when the {3-Spades} fell on the turn, but McLean cleaned out Tsapkounis when the {10-Spades} spiked on the river for the straight.

McLean is up to 47,500 in chips.
