Emad Eliminated

Tahtouh: not a happy chappy
Tahtouh: not a happy chappy
The action folded around to Dean McIver who raised to 1,100 from the small blind preflop, only to see Emad Tahtouh call from the big blind to go heads-up to a flop of {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

McIver opened for 1,500 and Tahtouh called, then Tatouh called McIver's bet of 2,500 on the turn of the {j-Hearts}.

McIver then fired out 5,000 when the dealer produced the river {2-Hearts}, which was just enough to put Tahtouh all in. Tahtouh committed but was furious to see McIver turn up {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a runner-runner nut flush.

"You've got to be kidding me," Tahtouh exclaimed angrily, mucking his cards before storming off.

McIver is up to 33,000 in chips.

Karambis Kracks Aces

On a board of {6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Larry Karambis checked prompting Manny Stavropoulos to move all in and was called by Karambis.

Stavropoulos: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Karambis: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

The river brought the {9-Spades} and Stavropoulos' aces were cracked.

Karambis now has 47,500.

Keith Hawkins Knocked on Woods

Keith Hawkins raised it up to 1,050, Masa Kagawa called and Barry Woods in the big blind made it 3,000. Hawkins was having none of it and bumped the action up to 9,000. Kagawa got out of the way, and Woods decided to shove it all to the center, 22,000 total.

Woods: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Hawkins: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

The board was no help to Woods and he was ousted from the 2010 Aussie Millions, while Hawkins climbs the leader board with 90,000.

Boxell Busto

Boxell: another Aussie casualty
Boxell: another Aussie casualty
Leo Boxell was the next casualty on feature table 31, having just been eliminated at the hands of Brendon Rubie.

Rubie raised from the hijack position preflop to 1,050 and the action folded around to Boxell who reraised all in from the small blind.

Rubie called and tabled {Q-Spades}{4-Spades} and was miles behind Boxell's {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, however the board was spread {3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, sending Boxell to the rail.

Rubie is up to 25,000 in chips.

Washed

The pot for the hand that began George "Carwash George" Cotaidis' demise had 5,000 in it, going into the flop.

The flop came down {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Cotaidis checked-called Barry Greenstein's bet of 1,000.

The turn brought the {a-Spades} and Cotaidis bet 2,000 and got called by Greenstein.

Cotiadis checked the {j-Clubs} turn and Greenstein bet 4,000. Cotaidis shrugged and said, "I call" tossing his chips in the middle.

Barry took down the pot with trip tens.

On the very next hand, Cotaidis went busto with {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} against Larry Karambis' {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} on a {4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades} board.

The End is Nigh For Ivey

Ivey: eliminated
Ivey: eliminated
Tom Dwan raised to 1,100 from the under the gun and the action folded around to Phil Ivey who moved the last of his short into the middle from the cutoff.

The small blind folded before Luke Thomas reraised all in from the big blind. Dwan mucked and the cards were tabled:

Thomas: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Ivey: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Thomas soared further ahead when he made a set on the flop of {j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The turn was a very sweaty {8-Diamonds}, giving Ivey the outs to the flush.

Thomas must have felt that Australia had turned their backs on him when almost all the railbirds begged for a diamond on the river.

It came up red, but in the form of the {q-Hearts}.

Another early exit from the Aussie Millions for Ivey, while Thomas moves up to 49,000 in chips.

"Billy the Croc'" Snapped Off

Croc: eliminated
Croc: eliminated
Billy "The Croc" Argyros has just been eliminated at the hands of Tom "durrrr" Dwan, but not without taking a chance on an "alternative" tactic against the online phenom.

"I can't beat durrrr sober, so I gotta get drunk," Argyros lamented. "If I don't know what I'm doing, how's he going to?"

"WAITER!" cried Leo Boxell, sending the rest of the table and nearby railbirds into fits of laughter.

The drinks came flowing in, but the laughter soon died after Dwan and Argyros went heads-up to a flop of {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}; Durr check-raised all-in after Argyros led out for 2,100. Argyros called all-in, tabling {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} but had been outdrawn by Dwan's {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Dwan improved to two pair on the turn of the {9-Clubs}; Argyros made a pair when the {k-Clubs} came on the river, but it was too little, too late.

The Croc has been tamed and is out of the tournament while Dwan is up to 88,000 in chips.

The Damm Broke

After a flop of {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Kenneth Damm moved all in and Brett Murtagh made the call.

Damm's {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} wasn't strong enough to hold against Murtagh's {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} when the board ran out with an {a-Clubs} on the turn and {7-Clubs} on the river.

Murtagh now has 28,000 in chips.

Toothpick Picks One Off

Catching up on the action between Emad Tahtouh, Antonis "Toothpick Tony" Kambouroglou, and Sebastian Ruthenberg, the flop was {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

Tahtouh and Kambouroglou both checked the flop and Ruthenberg made it 1,100. Tahtouh made it 3,700 and Toothpick Tony answered with an all in. Ruthenberg made the call for less and Tahtouh got out of the way.

Toothpick Tony: {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Ruthenberg: {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Toothpick Tony's flopped straight would hold when the turn brought the {3-Clubs} and the river the {a-Clubs}.

Ruthenberg made his exit and Kambouroglou stacked the chips. He's now sitting with 42,200.

Ivey Doubles Up Twice

Ivey: has a lot of work to do
Ivey: has a lot of work to do
Phil Ivey is hanging in there, currently on 9,000 in chips after managing to double up after the dinner break.

Ivey first ran his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} into an opponent's {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}, but there was no freerolling moment for either player when the board was spread {3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, giving Ivey and his adversary an equal share of the pot.

Ivey then got his money in with {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} against another opponent's {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, but the flop was a nasty {k-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, putting the opponent in the lead with two pair.

However the railbirds were relieved to see the {5-Diamonds} fall on the turn, putting Ivey back out in front with the flush. No two-outer this time - a harmless {4-Spades} bricked on the river to see Ivey double up.
