Ribeiro Eliminated by Ullmann

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Nino Ullmann raised to 32,000 in the cutoff and Tomas Ribeiro jammed the button for around 360,000, Ullmann quickly called.

Tomas Ribeiro: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Nino Ullmann: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

"I think this will be all clubs," Ribeiro predicted but the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop only gave the Portuguese a gutshot. He asked for the ten of clubs and instead, ended up drawing dead on the {6-Diamonds} turn to make the {7-Clubs} river a formality. Ribeiro has been eliminated in 31st place and takes home A$36,080.

Pepper Jams Into Vekaria in Very Long Hand

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

In a battle cutoff versus button, Rishabh Vekaria raised it up and called a three-bet to 100,000 by Gareth Pepper, which Vekaria called. On a flop of {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Vekaria check-raised to 300,000 and picked up a call by Pepper.

The {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Vekaria asked his opponent for the stack size. "Around 1.1 million at the start," Matthew Wantman on the rail added and Vekaria then checked. Pepper rather quickly moved all in and Vekaria asked for a count, the shove was deemed to be for 711,000 in total.

Eventually, Vekaria folded 11 minutes into the first break and both headed their ways.

Paawan Bansal
Paawan Bansal

Paawan Bansal: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Nino Ullmann: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Bansal was eliminated in the last hand before the break.

Another Double for Ha

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Mai Ha clashed with Gareth Pepper and his gutshot with the {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} got there on a board of {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to crack the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} of Pepper to ensure a double up for 145,000. It was the second time Ha doubled on the six-max table.

Seidel into Lead After Double Elimination

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

Pete Chen moved all in for 139,000 from the button and Erik Seidel announced a min-raise from the small blind to 266,000.

Scott Margereson was in the big blind and four-bet all in for 645,000. Seidel called.

Pete Chen: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Erik Seidel: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Scott Margereson: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Margereson was in the lead and stayed that way on the {2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop which gave Seidel extra straight outs. However, he hit his {a-Spades} on the turn to take the lead, putting both players at risk.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and he chipped up to 1,850,000.

"1.85?" asked tablemate Tomas Ribeiro. "Same as first prize!"

Nicolas Malo: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Pekarek Eliminated by Pepper

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

"Did I catch you slipping? Come on, you can't fold now," Jeremy Pekarek said after he had pushed into a reraise to 100,000 by Gareth Pepper. Pekarek was all-in for just 161,000 out of the small blind and added some more table chat, then Pepper called.

Jeremy Pekarek: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Gareth Pepper: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"How about an ace in the window," Pekarek said and then added "keep it clean" after the {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. The {5-Hearts} turn came a blank but Pepper got there with the {q-Hearts} river. Without saying a word, Pekarek quickly headed out of the tournament area, he has been eliminated in 35th place.
