Tkatschew Doubles Through Wilson

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The action folded around to Andrew Wilson in the cutoff who opened for 3,500 and Alexander Tkatschew moved all in for 19,500 in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Wilson took a few seconds of reflection before tossing in a chip for the call.

Alexander Tkatschew: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Andrew Wilson: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and the kings held up for Tkatschew to secure a full double-up off of Wilson.

Nemeth Avoids Trouble

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Andras Nemeth raised to 3,000 from middle position and Brett Kennedy called from the big blind.

The flop was {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Kennedy check-called a 2,500 bet to see {j-Diamonds} on the turn.

Both players checked the turn and Kennedy checked once more on the {10-Hearts} river. After a quick moment of thought, Nemeth checked back, and Kennedy turned over {j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

"I was hoping you'd bet that," Kennedy said as he dragged the pot.

Cardot Jams River Into Torre

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

In a heads-up pot with roughly 55,000 in the middle on a board showing {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, Giovani Torre bet out 11,000 from the big blind and Yannick Cardot made the call on the button.

The {q-Clubs} rolled off on the river and Torre slowed down with a check. Cardot took a few seconds before sliding a stack of blue 5,000 chips forward, covering the stack of Torre, who went deep in the tank.

After close to two minutes contemplating his options, Torre reluctantly made the fold and the pot was sent to Cardot without showdown.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Shares Mirage Stories

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

Chen Picks Up Cowboys For Full Double Up

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Andrew Chen
Andrew Chen

The action was picked up as all the chips went in the middle preflop between Andrew Chen in the small blind and Adrian State in the big blind. Chen had 109,000 and was slightly covered by State who made the call to put Chen at risk.

Andrew Chen: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Adrian State: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

It was a massive cooler for State to run into Chen's kings blind versus blind, and when the board ran out {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, the cowboys held up to skyrocket Chen up the leaderboard, while leaving State with less than 10 big blinds.
