Neil Macleod Calls With King High

Level 35 : 300,000/600,000, 75,000 ante
Neil Macleod
Neil Macleod

Paul Mohorea opened to 1,250,000 on the button and Neil Macleod defended from the big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and both players checked.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Macleod checked. Mohorea bet 1,250,000 and Macleod called. The river was the {10-Hearts} and Macleod checked again. Mohorea bet 2,500,000 and Macleod took about 40 seconds before calling and showing king high. Mohorea mucked his hand and Macleod pulled slightly ahead of the former chip leader. Macleod is one of the remaining players with a golden chip, which means if he wins the tournament he gets an additional $50,000 on top of the first place prize.

Daniel Dagenais Eliminated in 7th Place ($10,300)

Level 35 : 300,000/600,000, 75,000 ante
Daniel Dagenais
Daniel Dagenais

A hand after being crippled by Karla Leduc, Daniel Dagenais was finished off by Kegan Cummings.

In the hand before his elimination, Dagenais had Leduc all-in and at risk preflop with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Leduc was behind with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} but the board ran out {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Leduc doubled up.

That left Dagenais with 350,000, not enough to cover his big blind. Action folded around to Cummings in the small blind and he tossed out the extra 50,00 to make the call.

Dagenais: {2-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Cummings: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Dagenais had two live cards but got no help from the {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} board and busted in seventh.

Sofiane Boulila Eliminated in 10th Place ($4,630)

Level 34 : 250,000/500,000, 75,000 ante
Sofiane Boulila
Sofiane Boulila

Richard Moreau had Sofiane Boulila all-in and at risk on a {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop.

Moreau: {q-Spades}{6-Spades}
Boulila: {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Boulila was ahead but needed to fade the barrage of outs for Moreau. The {a-Spades} fell on the turn giving Moreau a flush and a lock on the hand. The inconsequential {7-Clubs} came on the river as Boulila headed for the door.

Richard Figiel Loses Some Steam

Level 34 : 250,000/500,000, 75,000 ante
Paul Mohorea
Paul Mohorea

Over the last few hands, Richard Figiel has lost about 7-million.

On the first hand, he opened to 1,200,000 under the gun and Richard Moreau shoved all in for about about 9,000,000. Figiel folded.

The next hand, Figiel was in the big blind and Paul Mohorea limped from the small blind. Figiel checked his option and the flop came {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Both players checked. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Mohorea checked. Figiel bet 1,500,000 and Mohorea called.

The river was the {7-Spades} and Mohorea checked again. This time Figiel made it 2,500,000 and Mohorea called quickly. Figiel showed {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a missed flush draw and king high, against the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} of Mohorea. Mohorea won the pot with a pair of jacks.
